Couple Living At Kitchener
The/ marriage of Janet Pauline
Thompson of Kitchener, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. H. D. (Bud)
Thompson, Lucknow and Claude
Alphonse Mayhew of Kitchener,
son of Mr. Valmore Mayhew and
the late Mrs. Mayhew of Thorne,
took place on Saturday,. August 2nd
at four o'clock in Lucknow United
Church. The altar was decorated
with pink tapers in candelabra
intertwined with white„ pink and
blue daisy mums. .
Rev. Doug Kaufman officiated at
the double-ring ceremony. ,
Miss Helen Thompson' of, LuCk-
now, aunt of the bride, as soloist
sang "A Time for "Us". Mrs.
Donalda Scott of Lucknow was
brganist.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride chose a full length. gown
'of pure crystalette with a panel
down front and back 'of Belgium
lace. The cuffs on the long bishop
sleeves' were of matching lace.
Falling from the waistline was a'
long cathedral train also trimmed
with Belgium lace. Her headdress
was a Juliet cap from which fell a
two-tier illusion veil. She carried a
bouquet' of blue and white carna-
tions, pink rosebuds, baby's breath

to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Austin
.Martin on the 4th concession when
their oil stove exploded: The
Ripley fire truck answered the call,.
Mrs.. Peter VanSickle and Trevor
recently spent a few , days visiting
with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Munch
• and Mr. and Mrs. Grant VanSickle
of Cambridge.
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald. McGuire
attended the wedding 'on Saturday
in the Presbyterian Church, Ripley
of Mr. and MrS. Brian Devvar
(Shirley Dickenson).
The girls of the Clover Valley 4-H
club, along with leaders and
friends' attended Achievement Day
in Kincardine High School On
Saturday.

Matron of honour was Mts.
Joyce Thompson of Guelph, sister-
in-law of the bride. '
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Mary
Gardner and MrS. Brenda Schiest-
el, both. of Wingham and cousins of
the bride and Miss Susan Hall of
tucknow, friend of the bride.
The bride's attendants were
similarly dressed in halter style
gowns of pink dotted SWiss with
matching ruffled capes and compli-
mented with white picture hats.
They. carried nosegays of daisy
mums in pink, btue and white /With
baby's breath.
Groomsman. was Denis Mayhew
of Kitchener, brother of the groom.
Ushers were David Thompson of
Guelph, brother of the bride, Terry
McMaster, friend of the groom and
Gerry MayheW, brother of the
groom, both of Kitchener.
The groom wore an all blue
tuxedo. His attendants .wore blue
tuxedos with black trousers.
A dinner and reception follOwed
at the Lucknow Legion Hall.
The bride's mother wore a lone
blue floral gown of polyester with
matching coat and purple orchid
corsage.
For travelling the bride chOse
long blue dress with matching
picture hat.
The couple will reside at 246
Avalon Place, Apt. 15, Kitchener,
where the groom is employed with
Bauer Skates. •

The first meeting of the Kairshea
No. 2 4-H group was held
Thursday, September 4 at Irene
Haldenby's with nine members
'present.
We elected: president, Mary
Eadie; vice president, Karen
Doelman; secretary, Debbie Allan;
press reporter, Sandra Smith.
Irene talked about our samples of
embroidery stitches and our pro-
jects. Cheryl discussed color with
us.
