Mr. and. Mrs. Wallace Richard-
son and Mrs. May Richardson of
Wjngham visited Mr. and Mrs.
Clifford Young on Monday.
Mary Bongertman of London
spent two days last week with her
parents Mr. and Mrs. Albert
Bongertman.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Scott are
spending two weeks out West.
They went by plane to Edmonton
and from there are taking a car 'to
British Columbia and Calgary and
then return by plane.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Young and
Beth of Hanover visited his parents
Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Young on
Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Moffat spent
two weeks out West and are now
home again.
Mr. Bev Kay, student minister,
was back in the pulpit Sunday at
Langside Church after being on
holidays last month. Special music
was by a trio, John de Boer, Nancy
de Boer, and Fern Kraft, who is
visiting' from Vancouver.
Next Sunday at Langside Church'
a special centennial service will be
held at eleven o'clock. This service
is designed to recognize the
Christian Creeds and Banners.
Mrs. Sheila Kirkland of Toronto,
who is the national co-ordinator of
banners will be present. Lunch will
be provided after the service,
allowing everyone to visit and also
an opportunity to have a closer look
at the 'Banners used in the service.
We hope that many former
Langside residents and visitors will
come out to this' special service.
Former Ashfield
Farmer Passes
FRANCIS J. MORAN
Francis Joseph Moran, a former
Ashfield Township farmer, passed
away at Huronview, Clinton on
Tuesday, August 26th following a
heart attack'. He was in his 72nd
year.
He was born in Ashfield -Town
ship on December 20, 1903, a 'son
of Patrick Moran and Margaret
Devereaux. •
On December '28, 1925 he
married' Clara McNamara at Kings-
bridge. They farmed in' Ashfield
until moving to Lucknow ten years
ago. Mrs. Moran passed away in
1971:
The late Mi. Moran was a
member' of Kingsbridge R.C.
Church and then St. Mary's
Church,. Lucknow.
He is survived by two daughters,
Mrs. Elva Freeman and Mrs. Rita
Ray, ' both of Chatham; one son
Alvin on the Ashfield homestead;
seventeen grandchildren and two
great grandchildren; and one sister
Mrs. Irene Keane of Stauffer
Street, Lucknow.
Besides his wife he was prede
ceased by one son. Wilmer in• 1966.
The funeral service was held at
St. Mary's R. C. Church, Lucknow,
on Thursday, August 28th at 11
a.m. Rev. Father Dentinger
officiated. Miss Marianne Frayne
was: organist and soloist.
Pallbearers were Leonard
O'Laughlin, James O'Neill, Alex
FaiTish, John Austin, Eldon Aust-
in, Wilfred Austin.
Interment was in Greenhill
Cemetery.
• MacKenzie Memorial Chapel,
Lucknow, was in charge of funeral
arrangements.
