moved last' Saturday from their
apartment on the main .street of
Ripley to one on the main street of
Kincardine. Kelvin and Evelyn wilL
be missed in Ripley where they _
were well known and liked. '
In Kincardine. and District Hosp-
ital at this time are Frank Fair and
Elwyn Pollock both of Ripley- At
this time of writing on the week end
Mrs. Isabel (Donald) Martyn is in
St. Joseph's 'Hospital in London.

The funeral service for Mrs.
Annie Murray was held at th,e
McLennan - McCreath Funeral
Home in Ripley on Monday
afternoon with interment in Ripley
cemetery. The former Annie
MacLeod, daughter of the late Mr.
and. Mrs. Kenneth MacLeod,
pased away in Chesley last week
end at the age of 71., She is
survived by her husband Norman,.
her daughter Bonnie, two grand- .
children, and her sister Mrs.
Margaret MacKenzie of Ajax.

Swanley, England. Mrs. Mounger,
the former Ruth Johnson, is the
daughter of Victor Johnson
Redver' s brother. They also visited
with their cousins Mrs. George
McLean in Ripley and Mrs. Guest
Mitchell in Kincardine. .Swanley is
in the county of Kent - about
halfway between the city of London
and the White Cliffs of Dover.
September - the time for gale
winds and rain squalls - is also the
month of fall fairs. Corning up on
the next , three Saturdays in this
area are Mildmay, Lucknow and
Ripley - September 13, 20 and 27.
Following into October are Tiverton
and Teeswater - 4th and 11th. So if
it is Saturday it's fall faii day here
in Ontario.
A travelogue of Scotland was the
highlight of the Ripley Women's
Institute meeting when Mrs. Mitrg-
aret Blue showed beautiful slides
and told many interesting incidents
of her recent tour in that country.
Mrs. 'Donnie MacDonald,
Tweedsmuir History curator, was,
in charge of the program. Mrs.
Violet MacKenzie played Scottish
piano selections including "Road to
the Isles" prior 'to the address.
President, Mrs. Graham Cook,
and • secretary, Miss Christine
Robertson conducted the business.
The Toll call was 'a rule in English
or spelling remembered from
school days".. There were many
interesting replies. Mrs. Francis
Gemthell reported remembering
three Members who were ill during
the summer and was pleased to say
that they were well and present at
the meeting,
• Members were asked to provide
a pie each for the Ripley-Huron Fall
Fair booth on Saturday, September
27. The booth will be operated ,this
year by the Purple Grove Women's
Institute. Ladies of , the 4-H
Homemaking Club are Mrs. Jean
Sellers, Mrs. Colwell, Mrs, Stewart
Farrell and Mrs. Allan Farrell.
A canvass for the Blind will be
held next month. Miss Christene
Robertson, Mrs. Cecil Carnochari
and Mrs. Donnie MacDonald will
be in charge' of. the Fair display
"Projecting Ripley or Huron Town-
ship". Dessert was served' by the
hostesses, Mrs. G. Cook, Miss
Chris Robertson and Mrs. G.
Cornish.

weeks travelling by boat north from
Fort McMurray in Northern Alber-
ta.
