The Ontario Government is
offering a support price of 50c per
lb. for stocker calveS in their so
' called Ontario Beef Calf Stabiliza- •
tion Program. This is misleading
as the producer pays an enrollment
fee on all of his cows, andgets paid
on 85% of his cows.
The National Farmers Union.
Region 3, strongly object to this low
support level and insist that it must
be no less than 70c. per lb. this
year, and would thereafter be
indexed to cover the full cost of
production including an adequate
return to labour and investment.
