-On Friday evening a reception
• for the newly weds Mr. and Mrs.
Jim de Boer (Judi .,,larnieson) was
held .in Whitechurch Community'
-Memorial Hall, where -a large
crowd gathered in their honour.
• The evening was spent in dancing
to music by Tiffin's Orchestra.. At
lunch time Jim and Judi were
called' to the platform,' given, seats
of honour while Cecil de /Boer read
an ,address and Frank Jamieson
presented , them with a gift of
' money on behalf of the gathering.
Jim and Judi both ;replied thanking
the sponsors, all for attending, for
their ,gift and reminding all where

(Joan Laidlaw) returned home from
their honeymoon on Saturday
evening to find that plans had been
made for a reception in their
honour to be held this Friday
evening in Whitechurch ComMun-
ity Memorial Hall.
Mr. and. MrS. Gilbert Ducharme
of Zurich were Sunday visitors' at
the, home Of Mr. and Mrs. Elroy
Laidlaw.
Mrs. Agnes Elliott of Wingham
spent the week end with Mr. and
Mrs. Walter Elliott and family and
attended Langside church anniver-
sary, where Rev. R. D. A. Currie
was guest speaker.

4-H "Calf Club
The second meeting of the
Lucknow Calf Club was held on
June 23 at 8.30 p.m. at the farm of
Glen Walden with all members and
leaders present.
The meeting opened with the
4-H pledge and the minutes of the
last meeting were read and
approved. The quiz in the
handbook was then completed and
recorded.
The 'members were served a
delicious lunch by Mrs. Walden
and her girls.
Ralph Morrison then thanked
Mr. Walden for the use .of his
house and Mrs. Walden - for the
delicious lunch. The meeting was
then adjourned.
Ripley's Alive
In 75
Ball fans are in for some good
games at the Ripley Huron
Reunion. This Intermediate Tour-
nament will have 10 teams. So
farm Chepstow, Clifford, Rostock,
Belmore, Walkerton, / St. Pauls,
Lucknow and' of course, Ripley,
have entered. There are still 1
places left, but these are expected
to be filled shortly. Also on sports,
does anyone have square- pitching
horseshoes and stakes? If so,
please contact Rev. Cecil Carno-
chan. He needs sortie for, the horse
shoe pitching competition.
Someone asked me last week if
the complex would be ready for the
reunion. It certainly will. They
started to pour concrete on the floor
Monday, and work on the dressing
rooms is progressing well.
. First practice for everyone in-
volved in the pageant "Memories
of the Past" will be held at 8.00
p.m. Saturday, June 28 in the
Township Hall.
