Commissions of inquiry by the political system of Canada into a problem when the people put pressure on politicians, is , a common tradition. The inquiries usually take one or two years to complete, and by that time, hopefully, the problem has been forgotten. The federal Beef Inquiry- has been through Western Canada and is now returning to Ontario for a final round of public hearings. In Saskatoon, besides the national submission from the N.F.U., twelve locals also presented briefs to the Commission. Only two other briefs,, other than the N.F.U., were presenied.
