Honoured With
Community Shower
A community shower was held
Saturday evening in the, basement
of Trinity Church for Brenda
Ritchie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Allan Ritchie of Zion. Elva Ritchie
acted as 'chairlady.
Program consisted of readings
given by Mrs. Jessie Kirkland and
Mrs. Sally Ritchie. Contests were
condudted by Mrs. Mayme Wilkins
and Mrs. 'Betty. Ritchie. An
accordian solo was presented by
Lori Hackett and a piano solo
• played by Elizabeth Wilkins. Barb.
Wilkins and Elva Ritchie assisted
the bride to be in opening her gifts.
As well Wanda Hunter and Nancy
Kirkland made a hat from the
•.bows.
Brenda extended her thanks to
the ladies and lunch was served.
An address to the bride,was read
by Barb Wilkins.

25th Anniversary
,A 25th wedding anniversary
party was held at the Pineridge
Chalet near Hensall on June 14th
for Mr. and Mrs. James Hamilton
of' Exeter, formerly of this com-
munity.
A dinner and dancing were
enjoyed. Music was supplied by
the.. Bluetones and the couple
received gifts and congratulatory
cards.
Guests were present from Lcin-
don, Lucknow, Ripley, Hensall,
Amberley and Exeter including
four generations of the Hamilton
family, Mrs. Robert Hamilton of
LucknoW, Jim Hamilton of Exeter;
Marilyn (Hamilton) Chappel and
her daughter Sherry.

This Monday, June 16th, the
District Track Meet is being held at
Teeswater. The track team from
Ripley will be competing against,
other schools.
BIKE RODEO
On Wednesday, June 18. Con-
stable Gaeler is holding a Bike
Rodeo. The person with the
highest points will go to the
Kincardine Arena and go against
many of the other winners.
PLAYDAY
PI•ayday is being held Ort Ju ne 17.
There are 20 teams who will be
competing against each other.
BASEBALL
Last week we found our champ-
ions and now we'll tell you about a
game between the boys champion
team and the girls champion team.
Phillip Trepanier's team played
against Shelley Strauss' team, in
an exhibition game.. Phillips team
won 17-0.

Field trips to various places seem
to be the order of the day at
Brookside as 'different classes close
the school year with a very special
day to remember. Kindergarten
classes, accompanied by several
parents and teacher Mrs. Lois
Farrish went to Grand Bend Zoo on
Monday and Tuesday; Grade 5 and
6 classes with teachers MiSs Lois
Wright., Mr. Greg Hazlitt and.Mrs.
Mary Bere went to Midland on
Tuesday and' toured'. the Indian
Village of Hurons and the Mission
of Sainte Marie Among the
Hurons; Grade 7' with Miss
Hortense Happel went to Coiling-
wood on Thursday where they went
through the Caves and saw Blue
Mountain Pottery; Grade 8 with
Mrs. M. Anderson and Mr. Greg
Lawrence went to Tobeimory and
enjoyed a ride on the ferry;' the
other Grade 8Class with Mr. Don
Cameron 'and Mr. Grainger went to
Toronto Zoo on. Friday.
On Sunday, June 22 the Sunday
School will be sharing in the service
of worship in Dungannon United
Church and Attendance Awards
will be given out.
Miss Beatrice McClenaghan of
Newmarket spent the week end
with her parents Rev.'and Mrs. R.
C. McClenaghan and with them
attended the 60th wedding anniv-:
ersary celebration for Mr. and Mrs.
Ben McClenaghan at Whitechurch.
Several from here attended the
Webster picnic in Harbour Park on
Sunday. Although the weather did
its best to upset things, those
present enjoyed meeting with 'their
relatives.
Mr. and Mrs. Art Brown of
Dundas were visiting in Lucknow
and Goderich and called on friends
in Dungannon.
Mr. Lawrence Smiley, a former
resident of Dungannon, called on
some of his neighbours.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gardiner of
Stratford visited her parents Mr.
and Mrs. Ross Eedy on the week
end.
