Council met for its regular June
session on ,T.uesday evening, June
3, at. the • Public' Works. Bnilding.
All members attended and Reeve
Lyons presided.
The minutes of the . May meeting
were read and adopted on motion
of Councillors. Foran and Hickey.
Council discussed the Kirk Drain
Repair and Improvement report,
and especially a culvert under the
road which has to be replaced. The
Clerk was directed to write Gamsby
and Mannerow Limited requesting
them to do the engineering on the
said culvert: The Court of Revision
on the Kirk Drain Repair and
Improvement By-Laiv was set for
July 3rd at 8.30 p.m.
The Clerk was instructed to take
the necessary steps' to apply to the
Ontario Ministry of Housing for the
grant available to be loaned'
homeowners to make necessary
repairs to their homes to bring
them up to standard.
The Clerk was directed to obtain
information on receiving the tax
rebate on diesel fuel purchases,
and, also investigating the possibil-
ity of purchasing a new grader tax
exempt.
On a motion by Councillors
Stothers and Hickey, the Road
Superintendent was authorized to
advertise for an einployee for
general Township 'work and grader
operation, in three local papers for
two weeks.
A petitipti" for drainage, signed
by Mrs. Muriel, Johnston of
Bayfield and others in the St.
Father's. Day,
Sunday,
June 15th
Augustine area of the Township;
was accepted by Coiincil, on motion
of Councillors Hickey and Cran-
ston. Maitland Valley Conserva-
tion Authority will be given the
required thirty days notice of the
petition before an engineer is
appointed.
By-law # 7; 1975, was given third
reading and finally passed on
motion of Councillors Foran and
Cranston, and carried. This by-law
authorizes the licensing of trailers
"and/Or mobile homes in the
Township. Licence fees will be
$10.00 per, month, and will be
collected four times a year. 'The
first billing should be made by 4uly
1st and a Copy of the by-law will be
mailed at the same time for the
information of trailer/mobile home
owners.
The road accounts were ordered
paid on motion of Councillors Foran
and Hickey.

Brookside School pupils, teach-
ers and some parents enjoyed a
band concert on Friday when Miss .

Public School, London performed a

by the percussion ensemble and
the stage band group.
