The June meeting of Purple
Grove Women's Institute was held
at the home of Mrs. Don McCosh.
The president, Mrs. Harvey Need-
ham, opened the meeting with the
Ode and Collect. "There is more to
going shopping than being first at
the bargain :counter" drew some
interesting answers for the roll call.

Ripley W.I. to attend their Tartan
Tea, June 17th. Our. Institute is
responsible for looking after the.
booth in the Township Hall,

8.00 p.m., during the Reunion.
Mrs. Earl Elliott gave a report on
the District Annual Meeting. The.
curator, Mrs. Wm. Arnold:' has set

secretary-treasurer, to prepare the
program for 1975-76.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Tiffin and
Wilford Clipperton attended the
Bernard-Cousins wedding held at
the Anglican Church On, Saturday.
The wedding dinner was also
served in the church basement.
The reception was held in the
Masonic Hall,, Thorridale.

tive shower near Streetsville.
Mrs. Bill Parker of Exeter, who
had visited recently with her sister

aghan to tell them the news of her
visit with her siSter.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim de Boer
arrived home on Friday evening
from their wedding trip to the East
Coast.

To celebrate Stephen Rintoul's
third birthday at the home of his
parents Mr. and Mrs. Neil Rintoul
on Sunday were his grandparents
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rintoul, Mr. and
Mrs. Leonard Robinson of Bel-
grave; Mr's. Ann Oberholtzer and
took over. Mrs. Francis floyle's
"Smile for the Day", had everyone
chuckling. Mrs. Cecil Sutton gave
a reading. The Officer's Confer-
ence held, in Guelph was 'reported
on by Miss Christine Robertson.
Mrs. Harkness conducted a couple
of contests.
The guest speaker, Mrs. Francis
Gemmel', was 'then introduced by
Mrs. McCosh, Mrs. Gemmell is a
member of the Ontario Food
Council. - She gave: an' informative
talk on future produce 'packaging
and how the consumer can cope
with this. 'Mrs. Harkness thanked
the speaker and presented her with
a gift. ,
Winners of the cookie contest
were Mrs. Harkness and Mrs. Don
Robertson. Mrs. Boyle gave the
courtesy remarks. The meeting
closed with the singing of 0
Canada and trace.
A tasty lunch was then served by
the hostess and lunch committee.
The next meeting will be held July
23rd at the centre at 9.45 a.m. in
the form of a hobo coffee break. ,
