held at Kinlough on September 8th
at. 2 p.m.

. John Barr, R. 1. Helyrood
was named historian for our
auxiliary. The roll call was
answered by 14 ladies with "A
Mother of the Bible". Mrs. Jack
Barr contributed a reading "The
Meanest Mother" which gave
plenty of food for thought.
The offering was ,received and
was followed by the Centennial
report by 'Mrs. Win. MacPherson
telling of the work of Mrs. McBeth,
a minister's wife in Winnipeg. The
film "Missionary- in Nepal" was
shown and told • of clinics, new
hospital, a leprosarium, element-
aty school and of a christian girl's
high school begun in 1956. Miss
Pat Pooler is the present Presbyter-
ian representative in Nepal.
The program was under the
direction of Mrs. Don °Robertson
and Mrs. Don Reid gave a history
of the growth of the Presbyterian
. church in rural areas between 1875
and 1975 in Canada,'Taiwan, India,
Korea, Nigeria. Mrs. John Barr ,
gave a sketch of the grOWth of our
own Kinlough Church and W.M.S.
Discussion took place on the Study.
Mrs. Tom McDonald read the
scripture, Hebrews 6 from Good
News for Modern Man.
The meeting closethwith singing
the Lord's Prayer followed by
commentary. Grace was sung and
refreshments were served by the
hostess. A ° sale of baked goods,
plants, slips and bulbs was held,
proceeds to go towards supply.

Women's League meeting' was
opened by the president Mrs.
Joseph ,Hiekey. , Eight ladies were
present.
It, was decided this year the
seven students who are graduating
from Kingsbridge school be given a
pen and pencil set.
Mrs. Wm. Redmond, Mrs. Ken
Leddy and Mrs. Raymond Boyle of
St. Augustine were among, the
group who went from Goderich, by
bus, to Ottawa Parliament to the
Pro-Life Conference.
Thank you notes 'were read from
Mrs. Eedy, teacher of the commun-
icants, who received their Rosaries
on their First Communion day. A
thank you note. was sent Jim Leddy
for the gift of 'money received by
the league: Get well cards were
sent to Mrs. Margaret teddy, and
Carla Hebert. Sympathy card was
sent to' Gus Devereaux on the less
of his sister Agnes and his
brother-in-law Walter Lettiner. A
Mass card was donated for 'the late
Father Mallok. A telegram was
sent to the federal government' in
Ottawa the day of the Pro-Life
conference.
Provincial Conference of the
C.W.L. will be held in Holiday Inn
in London July 8, 9, 10. Discussion
followed. It was decided some
ladies will • attend each ' day,
returning, home the same day. It
was decided by the: C.W.L. ladies
to donate the new crucifix which
was hung in the sanctuary of 'the
church recently.
Later the parishes of St. August-
ine, Kingsbridge and Lucknow
gathered in the parish hall to hear a
well composed account by the
Kingsbridge president, Mrs. Eug-
ene Frayne of the conference which
was held in Windsor in. May. Also
Mrs. Mark Dalton gave a detailed
account of the Pro-Life bus trip to '
Ottawa.
A plant sale followed and a most
delicious lunch was served by the
ladies in charge.

Saturday attended the Charolais
sale at Boiton, where he disposed
of two Charolais 'cattle. On Sat-
urday Gayle and Mr, and Mrs.
Gordon RintouL also attended the
sale ;• Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Rintoul,
Carol, Kimberley and Debbie were
also Mille sale. LeroY had cattle in
the sale too. . --
Debbie Hickey' spent the week
end with Janet Laidlaw at their
trailer camp at Kincardine.
On Friday, Mr. and Mrs. Waltet
Moore, Cindy and Richard, visited
with Mr. and 'Mrs. Steve Hamilton
and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Moore of
VVroxeter.
Tuesday last the Whitechurch
league ball team played Lucknow
Pee Wee team where Richard
Moore 'plays at Lucknow • with a
score 33-14 in favor of Lucknow Pee
Wee team.
Carl McClenaghan and his
mother Mrs. Ben McClenaghan
were in London on' Thursday and
went out 'to St. Thomas to call on
Mr. and Mrs. Irwin McClen2ghan.

Goderich were ,Sunday evening
visitors 'with Mr. and Mrs. Carl
McClenaghan.
FRACTURES LEG IN FALL
Mrs: Mack Inglis' of Highgate
had the misfortune to fall while
visiting here and is now a patient in'
Wingham Hospital with a broken
leg.
Jim Orr of London spent the
week end with his brother Bob at
Langside and called on Mr. and
Mrs. Bill Lapp and Mr. and Mrs.
John Currie of Wingham. .
YOUNG ,PEOPLES SOCIETY
Whitechurch-Langside Y.P.S.
held their meeting Sunday evening
in Chalmers Church Sunday School
room. Nancy de Boer opened the
meeting with a sing song. Mr. Bev
Kay led in prayer. Miss Kathy
Purdon gave the, topic, Witchcraft
and Symbols.. She'read scripture to
explain Witchcraft. The offering
was'received and dedicated by Mr.
Bev Kay. The 'vice president,
Graham Kay, announced the next
meeting June 8 at Langside with
John F. de Boer guest speaker.
The meeting closed with prayer.
Grace was sung and lunch was
served to the 15 attenders.
On June 17 Whitechurch Wom-
en's Institute are sponsoring a bus
to Rockton to visit the' animals and
other places. ,
Mrs. Herman Be Bruyn was
among the peaple from Huron
riding of Goderich, ,Lucknow,'
Clinton, Wingham, who chartered
a bus and joined the largest public
protest to enact legislation provid-
ing for the child conceived but not
yet -born, the same protection
provided anyone. The represent-
atives from Huron riding met with
their member of Parliament R. E.
McKinley. On Thursday at 1 p.m.
the group presented thefr demon-
stration and at 3 p.m. they made
the petition to the House of
Commons. They left for home at 9'
p.m. arriving here at 5 a.m. There
were over a million signatures from
across Canada.
On Saturday evening Mr. and
Mrs. Dawson Craig attended
Calvin-Brick 50th anniversary sup-
per held in Belgrave church and
later attended a 50th wedding
anniversary held in Brussels
church for Mr. and Jack Yuill.
Others attending were Mr. and
Mrs. Alex,- Robertson, Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon McBurney and Mr.
and Mrs. Peacock:

Sunday visited with her brother,
Ivan Bramhill and Mrs. Bramhill of

Paul and Brian Falconer of
Sarnia spent the week end with Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Mowbray.
