GRADE .5-6 CAMPING TRIP
• Mr. O'Donohue's class has gone
to the Outdoor Education Centre.
They are 'staying 3 days and 2
nights. Many people in other
. grades would have liked to go also.
GRADE 5 and 6 FIELO TRIP
Mrs. Huston's and Mr. Kum-
mer's grades are taking a field . trip
to Midland, Ontario to visit • the
"Sainte Marie among the HuronS"
on Friday, May 23. They Will leave.
at 9.00 a.m. and will return around
9.00 p.m.

Lady Passes
MRS. W. R. HAMILTON
Mrs. William Robert Hamilton of
R. R. 5 Lucknow passed away at
Wingham and District Hospital on
Wednesday, May 7th. ,She was 85.
She was the former Elizabeth
Mae Million, ',daughter of Edward
Million and Martha MCDougall,
and was born 'in Colborne Town-
ship on. May 5, 1890. On July 21st,
1915 she married W. R. Hamilton
of HttrOn Township, Mr. Hamilton
passed away May 16, 1959.
The late Mrs. Hamilton is
survived by one son Raymond Of R.
IC 5 Lucknow.
Besides her husband she was
predeceased by a' son Alvin on
'January $8,-)1964.
The funeral service was held at
MacKenzie Memorial Chapel,
Lucknow on Saturday, May 10.
Rev. Cecil Carnochan of Ripley
United, Church, of . which the
deceased was a member, was
minister.
Interment was in Greenhill
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jim Huston,
Leonard McInnes, Oscar White,
Jack McGuire, Andrew Hamilton,
Walter Roulston.

- The first Lucknow Brownie
Pack opened their meeting on
Tuesday, May 20th with skipping
games outside on the lawn at the
Town Hall.
Luanne MacLeod was Fairy
Queen and set up the Toadstool for
Brownie Ring. The Sixers collected
Brownie Gold and Tawny Owl did
inspection followed by the, Brownie
prayer.
At Pow Wow, Brown Owl
presented Debbie Huffman with
her Thrift Badge and Judy Hunter
received her Golden Hand. Each
Brownie is to learn the words to the
World Hunger Grace as it is to be
sung at the Revel Rally at Mount'
Forest on June 14th.
During work period Brown Owl
tested Judy Hunter for rules of
courtesy and Rosalea Cameron. for
knitting. Snowy. Owl tested for
skipping games with Helen Macln-
tyre and Rosemary Gilmore, pass-
ing this test. Luanne MacLeod
showed Tawny Owl how he would
clean a pair of shoes. Packie .then
conducted a singing game "Bow
Belinda".
• Everyone agreed that they had
enjoyed having the meeting, out-of-
doors and it. was brought to a "close
with the, Squeeze and Taps.
The SouthamptOn Summer Hock-
ey School staff are gearing up for
their seventh year of operation in
preparation for this* year's school.
Head Instructor, for thiS year is
Ted Scharf of the San Diego
Mariners of the WHA who recently
returned to Southampton after a
very successful season which saw
the Mariners' going all the way to
the semi-finals before being elimin-
ated by the Huston Aeros who went
on to win the WHA championship
and the Avec; trophy. Ted Scharf
has spent a great .deal of time
preparing this year's program to
insure that all boys attending are
exposed to nothing but the finest
hockey instruction available in
Western. Ontario. Instruction will
be given in the basic' fundamentals
of skating, passing and receiving,
shooting, checking and offensiVe
and defensive play. Goaltenders
will be participating in some of the
regular sessions such 'as skating
but will be receiving special
instruction in the fundamental's of
goaltending by All Star goaltender
Len Press who played during the
1974-75 season with one of the
London Junior Clubs. .
The program is rather unique in,
as much as the progression to new
+topics depends upon how quickly
the students absorb. the lessons,
thereby giving each student a very
sound foundation in basic funda-
mentals before moving on to more
complicated aspectS.
The school is a non-resident
operation set in "Ontario's Vaca-
tion Wonderland" which provides
many interesting pastimes for: the
entire family while the bdys are
attending hockey school. There are
weekly sessions in operation start-
ing on June 30th and concluding
August I. For boys living in the
Western Ontario area bits transpor-
talon is available from Wingham,
Lucknow, Kincardine,' Walkerton',
Hanover, Chesley, and Meaford
and all points in between.
The school boasts a very young
and forward thinking staff with
such players as Rob Barnes of the
Hamilton Fincups Junior A Club;
Len 'Press, London Junior; Tom
Cassidy, California Golden Seals,
NHL, and Ted Scharf who heads up
the staff from San Diego Mariners.
