of a dear mother and grand-
mother, Grace Hamilton, who
passed/ away April 29, 1974.
To-day recalls sad memories
Of our dear mother gone to rest
And the ones who 'think of her
• today
Are the ones who loved her best,
The bitter grief that first we felt
When God called her away.
Has been sweetened by antici-

Of joining her that promised day.
Sadly missed by daughters,

Mortgage bons
grow sharply
in province
Residential mortgage
loans by the chartered banks •
grew at a , faster rate in
Ontario than for the country
as a whole, the Canadian
Bankers' Association says.
Mortgage loans • out-
standing in the province
were up more than 37 per-
cent to $2.2 billion in, the 12/
months to Sept. 30, 1974; the
latest period for which
statistics are available. The
increase for all provinces
was 34 percent.
The 10 chartered banks
have beCome a major source
of mortgage money since
removal 'of lending
restrictions in the 1967 Bank
Act revision. Their out- -
standing residential mort-
gage loans have increased
more than sixfold since then.
Conventional Mortgages,
included 'in the' $2.2 billion
total, rose almost 82 percent
to $950 million during the
12 months, exceeding the
national increase of about 75
percent:
Mortgages insured under
the National Housing Act
were up more than 15 Per-
cent to $1.2 billion compared,
with the all-province in-
crease of less than 13• per-
cent.
