Mrs. Clarence Hedley reported
on the District Director's, meeting
held at Armow. The Tartan
Committee by-laws were read, and
a resolution read to be dealt with at
the District Annual. A tea will be
held at Brucelea Haven on May 1.
Plans were discussed for a bazaar
to be held in the fall. The executive
will meet on April 21 to make out
the programs for next year. The
meeting closed with 0 Canada and
Grace. The hostess and Mrs.
'Ellison Hodgins served lunch.

Lucknow No. 1 chi]) on Preserva-
tion of Fruit and Vegetables was
held at. Mrs. 'Leonard Ritchie's
home. The' meeting was opened
with the 4-H .pledge. The leaders .
for the club are Mrs, , Leonard
Ritchie and Mrs. Glen ,,Walden,
There are six members in the club..
Susan Kreutzweiser was voted
. president; Grace Alton', vice pres-
ident; Ruth Alton, treasurer;
Joanne Ritchie, press reporter; and
we decided that all members would,
take turns being secretary.
. Next meeting will be on . April: 22

- skit for Achievement Day "Let's
Can Tomatoes".

Sew 'N Sews
On April 9th, the Kingsbridge
4-H club held their 6th meeting at
Mrs. Evers' house.
Roll call was answered when the
girls showed a completed, page in
making a wardrobe.
Mrs. Van Osch read to the girls
about French seams and Flat Fell
seams, and demonstrated • them on
the sewing machine.
Later the girls started working on
their blouses on the sewing
machine. .
The next meeting is on April 14
at 7.00 p.m. at Mrs. Van °sell's
house.,
Name New Officers
For Silverlake W.I.
Silverlake Women's Institute
held then-annual meeting at the
home of Mrs. Keith Kerslake.
The president Mrs. Glen Halden -

opened the meeting with a verse
"Who Will Roll the Stone"
followed by singing the Ode and
repeating the Mary Stewart Col-
lect. Mrs. Keith Kerslake read the •
scripture. The roll- call was
answered by payment of fees.
The secretary-treasurer Mrs.
Ellison Hodgins read the minutes
and financial statement and dealt
with correspondence. Reports
were heard from the standing
committees, the curator, P.R.O.
and the'sunshine committee. Mrs.
Glen Haldenby gave a summary of
her years as pregident and turned
the meeting Over to Mrs. Margaret
Bannerman,
Mrs. Ronald Thacker presented
the slate of officers for 1975. Mrs.
Clarence Hedley presided for the
election of the officers: Past
President, Mrs. Glen Haldenby;
