The Government of Ontario recognizes that
the cultural traditions and heritages' of its
peoples are just as important as skills or
edutation in building a better life. We know
that it is people and not things that deter-
mine a' society's greatness and there is
nothing more valuable to people than their
culture.
That's why Ontario has established a pew
ministry devoted solely .to supporting corn-
t'hunity and personal betterment—the Min-
istry of Culture and Recreation. We hope
that through a wide range of programs frOm
theatre to hockey, dance groups to libraries,
we will 'be able to keep alive the spark of
individual creativity and human excellence
that makes a culture worth preserving.
More importantly, we hope to share with
others the riches and insights that come
from active involvement in community life.
A culture must be shared with other people
if it is to stay alive. It is by living out culture
that We can really share this gift with other
peoples and promote greater understanding
among Canadians.
The Ontario Ministry Of Culture and Rec-
reation has been established to promote
and encourage cultural expression of all
kinds and of all peoples in our province. 'We
know that keeping alive our cultural heritage
is essential to the future of everyone. In
Ontario we're doing something about it.

istry, you are invited to write to:
