At the Monday meeting of.
Lucknow 'Canadian Girls in Train-
ing, five members received' lan-
yards to signify that they are now
senior members, namely, Barbara
4,oree, Sandra Henderson,. Patti
Lou Irwin, Kim Haldenby and Irene
Reitknecht. These girls participat-
ed in the service with appropriate
verses, scripture, prayers and
music. Mrs. Gordon Cayley
explained that as senior members
they would now' have new respon-
sibilities of sharing and being
concerned for others in the group.
President Dorothy Clark present-
ed each girl with her white lanyard
and the service was-concluded with
the C.G.LT. purpose, verse and
hymn.
To celebrate the 50th, anniver-
sary of the United Church and the
100th anniversary of the Presbyter-
ian church?, the girls are making.
banners to place in the churches.
Also for this Mission Study, the
girls are quizzing their elders for
background of their own churches.'
Recently the Presbyterian girls
visited Mrs. Douglas Graham and
Mrs.. J. E. Little for further
information of their churches.
On March 3rd Wingham C.G.
I.T. will-join the Lucknow group for
the World Day of Prayer Service.
The C.G.I.T. girls will again be
learning the art of Easter egg
making. Some will be on sale at
their March Rummage' and Bake
sale. •

Wingham Girls Hockey team, the
Wingham flyers of which she is a
member, was at the Hockey
Tournament on the week end at
Wallaceburg.

MRS. ELMER OSBORNE
A lifelong resident of Huron
Township, in the person of Mrs.
Elmer Osborne passed away in the
Kincardine and District' General
Hospital on Thursday, February
13, 1975 in her 78th year.
Alice Gertrude Smith, the young-
est daughter of the. late William
Charles' Smith and Susan Moore
Smith, was born on July 19,, 1897
on Lot 18, concession 3 of Huron
Township. After her marriage to
Elmer. Osborne , in 1920 they
continued to reside on concession 3
of Huron Township.
The late Mrs. Osborne was a
devoted member of Olivet United
Church and after it closed she
attended St. 'Andrew's United
Church in Ripley. She' was -an
active meinber of, the Sunday
school at Olivet church and of the
United. Church Women until her
death.
Surviving are one son, Robert of
Huron Township, three daughters,
Lilian; Mrs. Duncan McCallum of
Hanover, Wilda, Mrs. Robert
Campbell of Lucknow, Donna, Mrs.
Ray Pennington of Ctilross Town-
ship and thirteen grandchildren.
She was' predeceased by her
husband in January 1956.
The funeral service was conduct-
ed by Rev. Cecil Carnochan of St.
Andrew's United Church, Ripley at
the Mciennan-McCreath Funeral
Home on Saturday, February 15 at
2 p.m.
Pallbearers were Austin- Martin,
Douglas Lackey, Harry 'Coiling,
Carrick Coiling, Sandy MacCharles
and Gordon Roulston.

the 45th wedding anniversary of
Mr. and Mrs. Graham Moffat of

VALENTINES Day was the theme
for a card party and dance held at
the community center on .Saturday
evening,
Mr. and Mrs. Morley Scott and
Mr. and Mrs. Don Robertson acted
as co-host and hoStess for the near
capacity crowd. Eleven tables of
euchre were id play and, for lack of
room, many. couples did not 'get a
chance at the prizes. Mrs. Francis
Boyle was awarded the high ladies
and high men's prize went' to
Harcild Elliott. Mrs. Cecil Sutton
was,awarded a prize for having the
most buttons. She came up with a
grand total of twenty:two visible
buttons - guess Wilma just doesn't
trust sippers!
Music for the dancing was
supplied by. Aural Armstrong,
Margaret Harkness, Walter Col-
lins, Don 'Robertson and Joe
Emerson. After a cold buffet lunch
thanks was extended to the mein:
bers of the band, those attending,,
the organizers and the ladies' who•
scrubbed and cleaned. However,
we feel' the most important thank
you of all was omitted. So,' to the
men of the. neighbourhood who
gave freely .of . their time • and
carpentry skill, a very big thank
you for a wonderful job in putting
on the new, panelling. It was nice to
see so many familiar and not so
familiar faces out to the centre for
an evening's entertainment and
welcome you all back the next time,.
