He is survived by his wife, the
former Violet Made; two daugh-
tets,1Mrs. George (Christine) John-
stone, Ottawa and Mrs. Grant
(Margaret) Blair, Lachine, and one
sister, Mrs. W. T. (Tena) Hart,
Toronto. Also surviving are several
cousins in the Lucknow• and Ash
field area.
The funeral service was held
from Queen Mary Road United
Church, Montreal (Hampstead),
with, interment in Mount Royal
Cemetery.. /

January 20. Honorary
Chairman, Reverend Marvin
Barz opened the meeting
with prayer.
Chairman Mrs. 'Pat Osborn
welcomed the members.
Mrs. Mary O'Keefe and Mrs.
Teresa Courtney were 'ap-
pointed to audit the books.
Correspondence received
from Alliance for Life,'
Toronto, advised that the
Canadian Medical
Association is pressuring the
Government to • have the
therapeutic abortion com-
mittees eliminated so that
abortions "may be a private
matter between a woman
and her doctor". The CMA
does not want to have any
control over, its abortion
practices.
. The leadership, especially
Bette Stephenson, President
of the 'CMA Jrather than the
medical profession itself is
pushing for • a policy of
abortion on demand.
Members were advised to
write to Canadian Medical .
Association, the Provincial
Minister of Health,
Honorables Pierre Trudeau,
Otto Lang, Marc Lalonde,
the local newspapers, and,
Bob McKinley; M.P. con-
demning ' the CM.A, and
especially Bette Stephenson.
There is growing dissention
among Pro Life doctors
against this CMA stand.
Four delegates from the
Huron Riding will go to.
Ottawa for the presentation'
of the One Million name
petition to government in-
cluding 2,115 signatures from
the Goderich area. A bus
will leave from Stratford

five minutes before
removing it.
The motion was made to
hold meetings on the third
Monday of the month at the
Queen Eliiabeth -StIlool in
Goderich beginning at 8 p.m.
Name Two Men
To Committee
R. E. McKinley, Member of
Parliament fOr Huron-Middlesex,
has announced the appointment of
two area men to the Area Manage-
ment Committee of the Opportun-
ities for Youth Program for 1975.
Appointed were Frank Wills of
Seaforth, a former .mayor -of the
town and. Claire Sager, resident of
Goderich.
Since the inception of the
program the young people of
Huron have been active under the
program, spending over $53,000
for 12 area projects in the summer
of 1974. Generally speaking, funds
are allocated to an area in an
inverse proportion to the unem-
ployment. ,
This is the first `time a local
Management Committee, utilizing
local representatives, has been set
up. In this way, the best interests,
of the area as well as the merits of
individual applications assured
adequate consideration. Delibera-
tions of the committee will corn-
mence after the February 21st
deadline for application's.

The Brownies opened their meet-
ing on Tuesday, February 4th with
games "It" and "One, • Two,
Three".
Luanne' MacLeod was Fairy
Queen for Brownie Ring. The
sixers collected Brownie Gold and
Tawny Owl did, inspection for clean
hands, followed by the Brownie
Prayer.
During the meeting Mrs. Web-
ster was testing for interest bad-
ges. Shirley Loree passed her Craft
Badge and Janice McInnes the
Toymaker Badge.
At Pow Wow Luanne. MacLeod
showed a picture she had made
from seeds. Sharon Struthers told
about the three articles she had
made from wood for her Wood-
maker Badge. The Brownies were
told that next meeting they would
be doing a Valentine Craft.
During work period Brown Owl
had the Golden Ladder Brownies
playing 'a compass game "Round
and Round the Country". Tawny
Owl 'worked with the, Golden Bar
Brownies and Luanne MacLeod
passed her test for flag of Canada.
Sharon Struthers passed her 'test
for sewing on two kinds of buttons.
Mrs. 'Webster "played the piano ,
while Packie taught the wordi and
actions of a new song "I've Been to
Harlem".
The meeting closed with Taps.
