meeting of the South Kinloss
W.M:S.
The South Kinloss Skating Party
was held last Saturday. After
skating they went .to the, church for
refreshments.
Recent visitors with Mr.' and
Mrs. Gilbert Hamilton were Miss
Betty Hamilton 'of Niagara Falls,
Miss Jeannette Barr and Miss
Susan Wilson of Kitchener, Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Barr, Susan and
Murray of Kinlough, and Mr. and
Mrs. John Hamilton of Clinton.
Visitors for the week end. with
Mr. and Mrs. Ira Dickie were
Walter Dickie arid Janet Wilson of
Toronto, and Irene Parker of
Teeswater. Denver Dickie flew to
Chicago III. and Milwaukee Wis. on
a business trip for the Dominion
Rotd Machinery. This week he •is
rephsenting the Company at the
Machinery Show in Chicago.
Mrs. Evan Keith and Mrs.
Leonard Clark were guests' of the
Silver Lake W.I. last Wednesday.
Mrs. Keith gave a talk on 'the
Metric System.
4H CLUB
Nine Kneaders
The third meeting of the Nine
Kneaders was held on -Thursday,
February 6, at 7.00 p.m. at Mrs. L.
Riitchie's. The meeting *as opened
with everyone repeating the 4-H
pledge. The minutes and treasur-
er's report were given.
Mrs. Ritchie , discuSsed Batter
'Breads, and Convenience Yeast
.Products. We divided into three
groups. One group made Oatmeal
Batter Bread, another group made
Batter Bread and the last group
made Brown Batter rolls.
We sampled the basic white
bread we had made at meeting two.
The meeting closed with the 4-H
Creed.
Rising Nine
The second meeting of the
Silverlake Rising Nine was held on
Thursday, February 6 at the home
of our leader, Mrs. Lizmore. Our
meetings wilt be held alternately,
at our leaders' homes.
We • open our imeetings with the
4-H pledge. Ouy'president is Joan-
ne Van Beers and our vice presid-
' ent- is Sandra Thompson. Our
mothers were guests at our meet-
' ing to give or get hints on making
bread.
The demonstration was making
basic white bread. At the end o
the meeting we sampled bread tha
Mrs. Bannerman had made.

The second meeting of White
church 4-1-1 club met at the home a
Mrs. Walter Elliott on Saturday.

Rising Rolls. The next Meeting wil

roll call will be bring a piece of
home made bread.
Mrs. Elliott demonstrated white
bread, freezer whole wheat bread
part 2. Mrs. Purdon demonstrated
bread making techniques, rifling of
dough, baking bread and storage of
bread and rolls. For group work all
tried their hand at kneading the
bread. Mrs. Elliott put the bread in
the pans and it was cooked.' After
bread was cooked all sampled it.
The meeting closed 'repeating
the 4-H creed.
Dough_ Punchers
The second meeting of the
Clover Valley 4-H club was held at
Donna • Elphick's on Thursday,
February 6 at 7. o'clock.. The
meeting was opened with the 4-H
pledge. The' demonstration of
freezer whole wheat bread (Part 2)
and basic white bread was done by
Mrs. Elphick. The roll call was
answered by all members.
Annette Elphick gave a treasurer's
report.

ers. Bread making ;techniques
were discussed by Mrs. Elphick
during the demonstration. Mrs.
Hamilton discussed .storage of
baked breads and rolls. The
meeting was closed with the, 4-H
Creed. We all enjoyed a delicious
lunch of the freezer whole wheat
bread and juice.

the University of Guelph and
Bonnie from Conestoga College.
Other visitors were Ken McIntyre
of Priceville and University of
Guelph, Miss Janet Lactner of
Cumberland and University of
Guelph and Mrs., David Barrow-
dough of New Zealand. Mr.
Barrowclough was on a Junior.
Farmers' travelling scholarship to
the United Kingdom where he met
the representatives from Ontario
also on scholarship tours. After
hearing their enthusiasm for Can-
ada he has.extended his tour; and
' hopes to be in this country for a
year.

visited on Monday evening with
Mr. and Mrs. Morley Scott.
