Lynn Hoy is seeking the position of mayor of Morris Turnberry. Hoy’s reason for seeking the position is to encourage more commercial and industrial growth. He sees nutrient man­ agement and keeping schools and hospi­ tals open as key issues. Taxpayer concerns are his concerns. “I have the time and will take the time to give good leadership.” He wants a cen­ tral location for the new municipality I readily available to taxpayers. EDNA MCLELLAN Incumbent McLellan hopes to continue to represent the ratepayers of Ward M as councillor. Actively involved in the com­ munity as a member of the Women’s Institute, Huroniea Auxiliary and Palliative Care, she is also the township’s representative on the recreation, medical and farm and safety boards. She chose to run because she wants tp follow some issues to their conclusion and sees water and manure management as the most important. Unforeseen challenges will be dealt with as they come, she says. KEITH JOHNSTON If elected mayor, Johnston says he will do his best to keep taxes down without jeopardizing services. A lifelong resident of Morris with 10 years experience on council, the past five as deputy-reeve, he has been on the board of trustees for Bluevale United Church, vice-president of the Wingham Fire Board, a member of Bluevale Hall Board, a representative on the OFOA, a director with MVCA, past president of the Huron County holstein Club, past 4-H leader and hockey coach. Growth and development are his goals KEVIN PLETCH With two terms on Morris council soon to be behind him, Pletch is running for one of two spots on Morris-Tumberry’s council for Ward M. He has been a coun­ cillor and deputy-reeve, served on many boards and committees, including school board, cemetery, fire and arena boards, as well as several county committees.
