The money raised was to go towards the “Sunshine Group.” The “Sunshine Bear” was escorted throughout the town in a red fire truck, compliments of Grant Sparling. They raised $1,028 plus the Lions are donated $500, all to sponsor a special child to go to camp for a week. Unfortunately, it costs $3,500 to be able to do this for one person. With the poor turnout for the recent event last week, it definitely is a let down for those who are actively involved with the Lions Club. Are we going to let the Lions Club down as the Optimists, that now no longer exist due to lack of support and interest?
