Morris council gets complex update
Bill McGrath and Grant Currie of
the Huron Bruce complex committee
met with Morris Twp. councillors,
May 2, to discuss funding for the
project.
After saying the groundbreaking
for the project will take place May
15, McGrath and Ctirrie said the
committee is looking to cut
$432,443 from the total cost with a
possible $40,000 to $50,000 more to
come.
Wingham will sign the three
contracts for the project. The project
will have to be debentured or a loan
secured to cover the remaining $1.5

Council was asked if they would

Council approved the Brussels,

amendment which put $10,000 back
into capital reserves.
A credit of $14,498 was received
for police service costs.
The recreation budget in the
amount of $313,377 was approved.
The road budget, in the amount of
$701,500, was approved, subject to
transition board approval.
In response to a letter from the
Blyth soccer organization, council
agreed to reconsider the grant
request if the area for the new field
was properly rezoned.
The quote from Da Lee Dust
Control for 280 imperial flake tons
of calcium chloride, at a price of
$222 per ton, was approved subject
to agreement from the transition
board.
