The Citizen, 2000-05-10, Page 33Obituaries GEORGE STERN PETHICK George Stern Pethick of RR1, Seaforth passed away on Friday, May 5, 2000 at Stratford General Hospital in his 73rd year. George was the beloved husband of Grace (Roe) Pethick and dear father of Ken and his wife Vai of Walton and Sharon and her husband Gib Steinman of Wyoming. He was the cherished grandfather of Ricky, Andy, and David Pethick, and Eric, Spencer, and Hailey Steiman. George is survived by two sisters Annie Rapson and Ruth Thorbum both of Seaforth, and sister-in-laws, Kathleen Williamson of Walton and Loreen and her husband Gib Hubert of North Bay. He was predeceased by one daughter Isabel (1974) and his par­ ents John and Margaret (Oldfield) Pethick. Friends were, received at the Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home, 87 Goderich St. W., Seaforth on Monday, May 8 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 9 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment was in Maitlandbank Cemetery, Seaforth. Rev. Sheila Macgregor officiated. Pallbearers were Frank Dolmage, Earl McSpadden, Tom Williamson, Murray Pepper, Doug Schroeder and Jim Rapson. Flowerbearers were his six grandchildren. JOHN STUART STEVENSON John Stuart Stevenson of the 14th Cone., Grey Twp., passed away at Wingham and District Hospital on Sunday, May 7, 2000. He was in his 77th year. Stuart was bom in Grey Twp. on April 26, 1924 and was the son of the late John and Pearl Stevenson. He received his education in the area and farmed all his life. He is survived by his wife Eleanor Hodges, son Fred and his wife Kaye of Whitby, daughter-in-law Bev Stevenson of Walton, daughter Sharon Blake and her husband Murray of Crediton, daughter Anna Lee Hooden and husband Barry of Scranton, PA, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sister-in- law Goldie Stevenson of Atwood, sister Mary Nichol and husband Glen of Brussels, sister Ruth Rapson of Seaforth, brother Murray Stevenson and wife Sue of Waterloo, brother Bill Stevenson and wife Carol of Brussels and nieces and nephews. ' He was predeceased by his son Tom in 1983 and his brother Gordon in 1987. Friends were received Tuesday at the Schimanski Family Funeral Home, Brussels, where the funeral will be conducted on Wednesday, May 10 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Lynn Nichol of Knox Presbyterian Church, Cranbrook, officiating. Pallbearers were Stuart’s grand­ sons Vance and Judd Stevenson, Ron and Chris Stevenson, Dan Blake and Andy Smith. Flowerbearers were his granddaughters Dana Stevenson, Melissa (Blake) Jacklin and Cori Smith. Interment will be in Brussels Cemetery.
