Councillor Murray Nesbitt asked why snow was removed from Queen Street after 7 a.m. on the morning of Dec. 29 when the snow removal contract had stated it was to be completed prior to that time. Councillor Doug Scrimgeour said Radfords had been set up to begin snow removal at midnight, but had not been contacted until the morn ing. Nesbitt also questioned why Council snow had been removed south of King Street and north of Drum mond Street, noting that although it had been done in the past that was not a reason to continue the prac tice. Clerk-Treasurer John Stewart said council sets policy and staff completes the task accordingly. If council wished to change the pro cedure, the staff would comply, he said. In response to a question from Nesbitt regarding the use of the three-yard bucket instead of the tendered four-yard bucket, Scrim geour said the four-yard bucket was cumbersome and the village was being billed accordingly when the three-yard bucket was used.
