On Tuesday the fed steers and heifers sold on a lower market. The cows traded steady. On Thursday the veal were selling on a strong trade. Lambs sold on a lower trade under pressure. On Friday calves sold $2 to $5 higher, and yearlings were selling $5 to $10 higher. There were 269 steers on offer selling from $45 to $50 with sales to $66. Nine steers consigned by Karl Terpstra. Mitchell, averaging 1,203 lbs. sold for an average of $50.56 with a gold steer weighing 1,120 lbs. selling to Dominion Meat Packers for $66. Twelve steers consigned by Frank Voisin, Formosa, averaging 1,385 lbs. sold for an average of $50.41 with two limousin steers averaging 1,185 lbs. sold to Dominion Meat Packers for $58. A gold steer consigned by D. M. McAlpine Farms Inc., Ailsa Craig, weighing 1,495 lbs. sold to Dominion Meat Packers for $58 with their overall offering of four­ teen steers averaging L384 lbs. sell­ ing for an average of $50.27. A red steer consigned by B & T Farms, Ailsa Craig, weighing 1,410 lbs. sold to Norwich Packers for $60 with their overall offering of twenty- one steers averaging 1,416 lbs. sell­ ing for an average of $49.50. There were 125 head of veal on offer. Holstein sold $40 to $55 with sales to $66; Plain Holstein, $25 to $35. Two veal consigned by R.G. & G. Farms, Kincardine, averaging 683 lbs. sold for an average of $55.60 with a black veal weighing 655 lbs. selling for $66. Six veal consigned by Chris Weigand, Parkhill, averaging 715 lbs. sold for an average of $57.78 with sales to $64.
