Child Abuse Prevention Committee announces new program Huron County Child Abuse Prevention Committee board of directors, announced that it will be embarking on a new parent support program in the fall of 2003. The program. Managing Family Life, will be developed through funding by Health Canada, Community Action Program for Children. This initiative, under the Rural Response for Healthy Children programming, will provide residents of several communities with hands-on parent support/education programs to be run simultaneously with children’s programs. In the development stages now, this activity will be done in conjunction with community partners in Huron County, in order to ensure the committee is meeting family needs and avoiding duplication of services. The service will provide on-site activities that will give families the support and encouragement they require in dealing with daily issues and situations. Children’s programs will be designed to meet their age level interests. In the review of HCCAPC programs and services, the board of directors has determined that the Seaforth Drop-In Centre will close its doors in mid August. Programming for the centre will continue to operate out of Bethel Bible Church in Seaforth, in a more limited manner. Families in this community will continue to be served through the new program. This new initiative is not only exciting for the families of Huron County; but reflects the ongoing flexibility in federal funding, which allows for the meeting of family needs in communities we serve. The HCCAPC office is also on the move The office will move in late August to 52 Huron St., in Clinton. This move will amalgamate THE BUS location (Seaforth) and existing administrative office in Clinton WORKER'S COMP PROBLEMS? WE GET RESULTS!
