They travelled through the Rockies, towards Jasper and Whistler and onto the Columbia Ice Fields. The weather can change very quickly. They stopped at Lake Louise, the hot springs at Nekusp and the Hodoos at the Badlands in Alberta. There are giant rock formations shaped like mushrooms. Then it was a quick stop and visit with Clem and Phyllis Steffler in Lacombe and with Mark McNichol in Brook. They went to Drumheller for the Dinosaur Museum and to the Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump Interpretive Centre. Don reports it was absolutely great to ride the bikes that far and they had fantastic weather. Only about half a day of rain and the camping and people they met while camping was great. Campers were a great help in talking about where to go and how to get there. Interesting places that you would maybe miss were discussed amongst campers and meeting others made it a fantastic time for them. The Women’s Institute ladies served a Blyth supper on Friday evening for over 30 theatregoers. Helping out were Mary and Marjorie Humphries, Leona McDonald, Brenda Perrie and Helen Craig.
