Fun company Arrogant Worms perform for Teddy Bear auction The Blyth Festival Theatre Young Company is holding a busker festival on Saturday in the Memorial Hall courtyard. These young actors will be playing music, singing and dancing prior to theatre performances, starting at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. The purpose of the busker festival is to “show off the talent that we have here and to let people know that the Young Company is around,” said local performer and YC assistant John Battye. There are 13 members in the Young Company this year ranging in age from 12 to 21 and coming from Stratford, Blyth, Goderich, Wingham, Gorrie and Kingsbridge. '.'MW /1 k \ Sept. 20 the Teddy Bear Dream Auction takes to the stage at the Blyth Memorial Hall. As it has in past years, the event will feature great food and excellent auction items. This year’s event will also feature special entertainment provided by the band - The Arrogant Worms. One of Canada’s most popular live acts, The Worms’ versatility is second to none. The Worms find their roots in folk and acoustic rock, though they borrow from Celtic, country, reggae, bluegrass, surf music, and even gospel. Dinosaurs will invade Bruce County this summer when the Bruce County Museum & Archives brings the Royal Ontario Museum’s Dinomobile to six Bruce County communities. The Dinomobile visits will be the first in a series of new outreach activities the Museum is planning to offer in towns and communities right across the county. Travel back to when dinosaurs roamed the world in this unique, self-contained exhibit in a trailer! The Dinomobile features several full-size dinosaurs, such as an Albertosaurus attacking a nest of Maiasaur hatchlings and an Ornithomimus running. from two dog-sized Dromaeosaurs with razor­ sharp teeth and claws. Examine the head of a Triceratops and compare the similarities of birds to dinosaurs. The experience is enhanced by reconstructed habitats and sounds that scientists believe dinosaurs made. The Dinomobile is wheelchair- accessible. The Teddy Bear Dream Auction is one of the best fundraising events in Huron County, and it raises money for a commendable cause - the elimination of child abuse. This annual event is hosted by the Huron County Child Abuse Prevention Committee, a non-profit organization totally funded by donations and fundraising events. The organization is established to raise public awareness of child abuse by providing and supporting education and prevention programs for children, parents, professionals and other members of the community.
