H - Like what? Hilary - Hey, Scott, we gotta say this in front of, like, 250 people. What are we supposed to say? It’s not like anything hap pened this year. Scott - What are you talking Hilary? of stuff hap S - Like the time we went to Camp Celtic. H - Yeah, that was pretty boring... S - No it wasn’t! It was the best trip we ever went on as a class. H - Yeah, it was pretty fun. Remember when ... S - Those kids sang that Ninja Turtles song in front of everybody. H - Oh yeah, and when only Seaforth had the guts to do skits at campfire. S - Yeah, those were some pretty sweet times. What else happened during our lustrous times at Seaforth and Walton? H - In kinder new playground equipment, and in Grade 3 we had a Japanese meal. S - Well, in Walton, up to Grade 4, we didn’t do much, but we did have fun. The most fun times we had were swimming at Vanastra and going to Storybook Gardens in Grade 4, and going to watch Charlotte’s Web at the Blyth Festival. garten, we took home baby chicks. S - The thing I’ll miss most are the sports. Like, the soccer, basket ball and volleyball tournaments. They were always fun, especially when we won. And you know what, Hilary? H - What, Scott? S - The teachers like Mr. Vercruyssen and Mrs. Reynolds were so dedicated at what they did. They’d wake up early, stay late, or even take their lunch break off just to coach our teams. But I can’t forget my other past teachers, such as Mrs. Griffin who has taught the Walton kids music for four years and the Seaforth kids for eight years. She helped us when we were going through the Grade 6 test ing. H - Yeah, she even put up with us during all those students’ council meetings. S - Oh, and you can’t forget when she took us to Camp Sylvan and kept her cool for three days straight. H - Remember last year when we had Mrs. Reynolds and Mr. Chisholm... S - Yeah, I had Mr. Chisholm. He had the lamest jokes I’ve ever heard. H - Yeah, he did have pretty lame jokes. S - But all in all, he was a pretty good teacher, except for one thing: He liked the Toronto Maple Leafs. The most fun time we had with him was our trip to Marineland. H - You had to do quite a bit of fundraising for that trip, didn’t you, Scott? S - Yep, but the best part about it was kids got a chance to throw pies at Ms Morton and Mr. Banner. What fun times did you have with Mrs. Reynolds last year? H - My class went golfing and to the Baseball Hall of Fame in St. Marys. I had a great time last year, since I was with all my best buddies. S - Yeah, Grade 7 sure was fun. H - And don’t forget our three French teachers. We had Mrs. Papple who taught us in Grade 5. Ms Visser who taught us in Grade 6, and Madame Elizabeth who taught us in Grades 7, 8 and the primary grades. We learned verbs, tenses and vocab ulary. S - Dans le monde d’aujourd’ hui celui qui ne parle que sa Iangue- maternelle est comme celui qui n’a qu une seule main. H- Moving on... At the beginning of the year, when a new teacher arrived, the first thing that came to mind, was The Simpsons when we heard her name was Mrs. Hoover. She was a good sport about all the jokes, and she even awarded us with candy tor good efforts. I still have some left Continued on page 18 To A Great BEGINNING Walton, Ont. NOK 1Z0 Dungannon, Ont.
