Agriculture_____ Brussels Livestock report Calves sell steady, yearlings $2 to $4 lower Total receipts for Brussels Livestock for the week ending June 13 were 2,199 head of cattle, 712 lambs and goats. On Tuesday, the fed steers and heifers sold on a steady market. The cows also traded steady. On Thursday, the veal sold on a steady demand at prices $2 to $5 lower while the lambs traded at prices steady to last week. On Friday, the calves sold on a steady market while the yearlings traded at prices $2 to $4 lower than last week. There were 415 steers on offer selling from $94 to $98 with sales to $113.25. Emerson L. Martin, Linwood, consigned five limousin steers averaging 1,269 lbs. which sold to Norwich Packers for $113.25. His overall offering of thirty-four limousin steers averaged 1,270 lbs. selling for an average of $105.53. Twenty steers consigned by Owen B. Martin, Wellesley, averaged 1,394 lbs. selling for an average of $103.73 with his top limousin steer weighing 1,385 lbs. selling to Holly Park Meat Packers for $113. Lauderlea Farms, Listowel, consigned ten limousin steers averaging 1,403 lbs. selling for an average of $108 with sales up to $112.75. One black steer consigned by Fanholme Farms. Six heifers consigned by Larry and Checking out the equipment Approximately 75 people gathered at the East Wawanosh farm of Keith Black last Thursday as the Huron County Soil and Crop Association held a hay demonstration day and fundraiser for the Belgrave community park playground equipment. In spite of less than ideal conditions with the wet hay more than a dozen pieces of machinery were demonstrated and $250 raised for the playground.
