WMS Sunday
On Sunday, June 8 the Cranbrook
Presbyterian Church held its
Women’s Missionary Society
Sunday. Members of the WMS
taking part were Eleanor Stevenson,
Brenda Perrie, Donna and Yvonne
Knight.
Rev. Theresa McDonald-Lee,
assisted by her husband Johnathan,
showed slides and commented on
her study leave in Ghana. She was
very excited about the mission work
being done there through the
Presbyterian Church. When one
realizes the average yearly income
there is $120 American, people
should contribute more to their aid,
she noted.
County’s household waste days
set for 3 days in September
Huron residents will have an
opportunity to dispose of household
hazardous waste on three days in
September.
At its June 5 meeting, county
council awarded the contract to Hotz
Environmental Service for the
project, budgeted to cost $45,000.
Scott Tousaw, director of planning
and development, said the actual
cost will depend on the volume of
materials people bring in for
disposal.
The disposal day for Central
Huron residents will be Sept. 13
while in North Huron it will be Sept.
20. South Huron will have a disposal
date on Sept. 6. Everything from
petroleum products and light fuels to
latex and oil paints to propane tanks,
fluorescent tubes and batteries will
be accepted.
