The next euchre is Wednesday, May 28 at 8 p.m. AMDSB shuffles principals, teachers Several area principals, vice­ principals and teachers will find themselves in new roles come September. Blyth Public School Principal Kim Black is being transferred to Seaforth Public School for the opening of their new facility in September and Seaforth Principal Jane Morton will be coming to Blyth. Mike Ash, principal at Central Huron Secondary School (CHSS) will be moving to Goderich District Collegiate Institute (GDCI) and Herb Klassen, vice-principal at Stratford Central secondary School will assume Ash’s position. CHSS will also have a new vice-principal in the person of Sheila Jankowski from Mitchell District Secondary School (MDSS) when Vice­ Principal Eleanor Salmon goes to MDSS. CHSS teacher Janice Shore moves into the role of vice-principal at Huron Centennial Public School. F.E. Madill Secondary School will lose teacher John Matthews as he goes to Listowel District Secondary School (LDSS) to become a vice­ principal. LDSS Vice-Principal Jackie Campbell will be promoted to principal. GDCI Principal Ted Doherty will move to the education centre to become a system principal. UCW meets The Afternoon Unit of the United Church Women met May 20 in the Sunday school room with Calvin Brick and Evening Unit members as guests. Kay Roberts welcomed everyone and read a poem entitled Mother Appreciated. The theme of the worship service was Women and the meditation was entitled Testing Limits. The worship was conducted by Mrs. Roberts. The general meeting of the United Church Women is Thursday, May 29 at 8 p.m. in the church basement. The speaker is Rev. Gandon, executive director of Goodwill Industries, London. On Sunday, June 1 the conference Mission and Service Clown Troupe will lead the 11 a.m. worship at Knox United Church. Lunch will follow. Plan to stay so that you can meet the clowns. Jim Hunter, who was a patient at University Hospital, London, has returned home. The community wishes Jim a speedy recovery. (Sarah Mann photo) It was a day of celebration on Saturday as Ross and Mary Procter marked their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends. Mary Louise, daughter of Ewert Dryden and Rachel (Rogers) Cameron, was born in Walkerton. Ross Stewart, son of Stewart and Alice (Imlay) Procter, was born in Morris Twp. The two were married on May 22, 1953 by Rev. Nelson at St. Paul’s United Church in Walkerton. Attendants were Charles Procter and Margaret (Brown) Raymond. For (heir honeymoon, the pair attended the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II and also took a tour of Europe and Britain. After their honeymoon they lived in Burlington until 1968 when they moved to Morris Twp. Mr. Procter made a living as a sales manager and a farmer and says he will never retire. He is also a member of the Huron Beef Producers, the World Shorthorn Association, and Wingham Travel.
