squad as they took to the field for
their first game of the season May
21 against their Brussels Ill
counterparts.
With seven first-time players,
Logan Kellington, Tyler
VanderMeer, Derrick Waechter,
Ashley Stevenson, Kaylie Wheeler,
Dylan McNeil and Alida Swartz, the
veterans played like pros and guided
the new ones, said Michelle McNeil-
Dauphin.
Kristen Pipe notched a hattrick
with Tim Waechter adding a single
as Team I topped Team III by a score
of 4-3.

Horbaniuk o ff to good start
The drag racing season has gotten
off to a good start for Molly
Horbaniuk of Londesboro when she
captured second in TCR (Teen
Championship Racing) at the Grand
Bend Motorplex this past weekend.
In her 1968 Acadian, 16-year-old
Horbaniuk flew down the track at
57.27 miles per hour, crossing the
line in 12.075 seconds and a dial-in
Mosquitoes play to tie
In spite of expending considerable
energies early in the day with local
track and field meets, the Blyth U-13
Mosquitoes came prepared to play
when they took on the Goderich
Knights of Columbus soccer team,
May 22.
With goals from Gordon Brigham
and Drew Taylor, the Mosquitoes
earned a tie with their oppo
nents.
“It was a close game,” said coach,
Alan Young. “It was their best team
effort yet.”

but must also try to get as close to
their predicted time as possible.
This is Horbaniuk’s third year of
racing and began racking up first-
