Obituaries FENNA BLOK Fenna (Lubbers) Blok of Auburn passed away at London Health Sciences Centre, South St. Campus on Saturday, May 3, 2003. She was in her 74th year. Mrs. Blok was bom in Adoom, Drenthe, The Netherlands on April 21,1930 and was the daughter of the late Willem and Roelofje (Van Der Spoel) Lubbers. Mrs. Blok was a member of the Blyth Christian Reformed Church. She was the beloved wife of the late Garrelt Blok, who predeceased her in 1984. She was the loving mother of Judy and David Waddell of RR2, Chesley, John of Blyth, Bill of Goderich, Nick and Reanne Blok of Edmonton, Terri and Lynn Korstanje of Strathroy, Hank of Auburn, Alice and Ken Pfeifer of Monkton, Joyce and David Wesselink of RR4, Brussels, Anita and Sandy Storrar of Caledon East, Jeannette Blok and Mike Franken of Dungannon, Gary of Chetwynd, B.C. and Sharon and Jim Horton of Goderich. She was also loved and will be sadly missed by 33 grand­ children and seven great-grandchil­ dren. She was the dear sister of Roely and Dirk Voorintholt, Willem and Trintje Lubbers all of The Netherlands, Ralph and Grace Lubbers of Auburn and Alex and Nellie Lubbers of Fenelon Falls. Mrs. Blok was predeceased by one infant daughter, Margaret Blok, one sister and three brothers. Friends were received at the Blyth Visitation Centre of the Beattie- Falconer Funeral Homes Ltd., 407 Queen St., Blyth on Tuesday from 6 - 9 p.m. A private family funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 7. Pastor Adrian VanGeest will officiate. Flowerbearer will be Justin Wesselink. Pallbearers will be Kevin Waddell, Greg Blok, Mike Blok, Paul Kor, Jeff Pfieffer and Lincoln Waddell. Interment will be Ball’s Cemetery, Hullett Township. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Children’s Hospital of Western Ontario would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. WILLIAM JAMES WILLIS Mr. Bill Willis of RR 4, Wingham, passed away at London Health Sciences Centre on Wednesday, April 30, 2003. He was 76. Bom Nov. 25, 1926, he was the beloved husband of the former Ethel Dustow. He was the dear father of Arlene and Bill Haasnoot of Wroxeter, Murray and Twyla Willis oi RR 4, Woodstock, David and Ca.idice Willis of Wingham, and Cheryl and Steve Burbidge of Wroxeter. He was the loving grand­ father of Stephanie, Krista and Tracy Haasnoot, Melissa and Tyler Willis, Gavin, Megan and Tyson Willis, and Amanda, Jenna and Jason Burbidge. Mr. Willis was the loved brother of Gertrude Koch of Listowel, Mildred McConnell of Guelph, Lola and Allan Barnard of Stratford, and Vera and Cecil Miller of Gowanstown. He is also survived by his brothers- in-law Howard Speers of Alberta and Clarence Russell of Kitchener. Mr. Willis was predeceased by his sisters Irene Speers and Betty Russell. Bill was a past member of Maitland Lodge in the Order of the Odd Fellows in Wingham as well as a Life Member of the Western Star Lodge in Brussels. Visitation was at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham, Ontario on Thursday, 7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held at the funeral home on Friday at 2 p.m. Rev. Wayne B. Beamer officiated. Interment was in Wingham Cemetery. Memorial donations to Wingham Hospital Foundation or Wingham United Church would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. LARRY ROBERT MCDOUGALL A celebration of the life of Larry Robert McDougall was held at North Street United Church on Saturday, April 26, 2003 to pay trib­ ute to a kind and generous resident of Goderich. His aunt, Marion Kernighan, and cousin, Lyle Kernighan, played Amazing Grace on the piano and flute. Scott Huff and Cathy Loebach gave words of remembrance and Rev. Roy gave a special tribute. Pallbearers were Brian Wilson, Ken Johnston, Gary Dykstra, Stevie Loebach, Herb Govier, and Jamie McDougall. Flowerbearers were Stacey Huff, Kim Loebach, and Jackie Loebach. Larry passed away peacefully at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital on Wednesday, April 23 after a short and painful battle with cancer. He was 45. Larry was bom on Oct. 2, 1957 in Clinton, the son of Joan (Govier) and the late Bob McDougall. At age two he moved to Goderich and attended Victoria Public School from 1961 - 1965. In 1965 the fami­ ly moved to the west end of town and he attended Robertson^ School for one year. He then moved to Owen Sound for a year at Hillcrest Public School, then moved back to Goderich and attended Robertson and GDCI. In 1976 he worked in the parts department at Champion Road Machinery. In 1981 he went back to school and obtained a computer diploma at Fanshawe College in London. He moved back to Goderich and worked at A & P until 1998. He then worked at the Goderich Legion until December this past year. He also had his own commercial cleaning business since 1985, which he continued until recently. Larry was a member of the Nine- Mile Fishing Club, a member of the Maitland Golf and Country Club and was a frequent patron of the local coffee shops. He was known for his mathematical skills and often tutored young people. He also enjoyed preparing income tax and helping those less fortunate. Larry will be deeply missed by his mother, Joan; sister, Marlene Huff and her husband Steve; niece and nephew, Stacey and Scott who fond­ ly remember him as “Uncle Buck”; special friends, Cathy, Stevie, Kim and Jackie Loebach; many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by grandpar­ ents, Jim and Nellie McDougall and Murvin and Margaret Govier and his father, Bob, in March 2002. Father and son are now playing the greens of heaven. Donations to the Cancer Society (transportation fund) and Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Larry’s name would be greatly appreciated.
