earns Excellence
For Barb Mutter of Brussels, her
Excellence in Education award
received recently is a recognition of
her tremendous contribution to the
school environment at Listowel
District Secondary School.
Mutter has been an education
assistant in the Life Skills program
for four and a half years, working
with special needs students.
During the ceremony at the
awards banquet held April 30, it was
noted that Mutter went above and
beyond for her students, initiating
research into medical conditions and
showing considerable understanding
and empathy. She has gained the
trust of her students, their parents
and her co-workers.
The openness, positive attitude,
level of caring and patience
demonstrated was nurtured during
her more than 17 years of owning
and operating a nursery school in
Brussels said presenters Doug
Pratley and Cathy Pratt.
Mutter was among the 47 staff,
students and community members
presented with the awards which are
given annually by the Avon
Maitland District School Board and
the Ontario Secondary School
Teachers’ Federation.
