Foundations Initiative
The Central Huron, South Huron and the Wingham & District
Associations for Community Living were successful in obtaining
funding through the Foundations Initiative - a Program designed
for young adults with a developmental disability to assist with
successful transition from school to a wide range of community
participation and work.
Position Summary: The Coordinator will have the ability to self
direct, act as a resource and facilitate the objectives of the
Steering Committee to increase and improve the quality of
participation in community, focus on informed choice,
contribution and meaningful involvement. Duties will range from
policies, procedures, planning, intake, developing and monitoring
placements, recruitment of providers, data collection,
administrative and budgeting.
Skills: post-secondary degree/diploma, demonstrated
accomplishments in coordination role with social service or
employment organization; strong leadership and communication
skills, knowledge of community resources for young adults,
intake and referral skills; budgeting and computer skills.
