FROM BLYTH
Sorry,
our
mistake
There were some errors in the
anniversary report for Anton and
Janny Passchier printed in last
week’s issue of The Citizen.
The Saturday celebration was an
intimate family gathering not an
open house and the correct name of
Corey Passchier’s f.ancde is Laura
Askes.
We apologize for the errors and
any confusion they may have caused.

The service was conducted by Joan

of Rev. Eugen Bannerman who was
storm-stayed in Stratford.
Guest musician was Stephanie
Bokout.
The Dramatized Lectionary
reading was Isaiah 43: 18-25. Those
participating were Joan Clark,
Amanda and Wyatt Bearss, Amelia
Carter-Brown and Rachelle
Ducharme. Ollie Craig led the
responsive Psalm 41 and Joan Clark
read the gospel, Mark 2: 1-12.
Ollie Craig read the sermon which
Rev. Bannerman had faxed to the
church. The title was We’ve Never
Seen Anything Like This Before.
This is what the people said after
they heard Jesus and saw him
perform cures.
Rev. Bannerman attended a faith
healing service in Pittsburgh in
1975, conducted by Kathryn
Kuhlman. People started to gather at
6 a.m. and by 9:30 a.m. when the
church’s doors opened a crowd of
2,000 rushed in to get seats. During
her speech she introduced a mother
who brought her baby boy with a
deformed club foot. The infant
became restless and when the
parents took him to the doctor he
verified that the foot was
straightening out.
