Condolences go to Keith, Nancy
and Bill, the children of Mrs Kay
Lapp- who passed away Monday
Feb. 3 at the Clinton Public
Hospital. Kay was a member of the
Senior’s Club, Bible Study Club,
Walkerburn Club and was the
Auburn correspondent for several
years up to the beginning of 2003.
Many friends will miss Kay.
Condolences go to Hank Kerssies
and family on the sudden passing of
his son Harry Kerssies at the early
age of 37.
Auburn Lions’ hockey winners
were Jeff MacDonald and Paul
Chamney.
The Dungannon euchre party
winner Jane Giousher tied for
second and had the most lone
hands.
West Huron Women’s Institute,
Auburn Branch, is holding a dessert
and card party on Feb. 20 at 1:30
p.m. at the Auburn Community
Hall. There will be prizes and an
afternoon of fun and bring your
luck.
On Feb. 6 there were 14 ladies
who attended the Coffee Club at
Stickers.
On Feb. 8 Huron-Perth counties
held the County Challenge at the
Brussels Legion. Thirty-four dart
players came to play for eight spots
on the two-county team.
Successful players from the
Auburn area are John Verwey,
Murray Thompson and Andy
Lubbers. The five remaining
players are Kaloeb Robinson, Mike
Coderre from Stratford, John Young
from Seaforth, Eric Ross from
Brussels ana Allyn Ward from
Listowel.
The eight will be playing the
County Challenge of Champions in
Kitchener on May 3. Good Luck
gentlemen.
On Feb. 9 the Lion’s Club held its
Valentine breakfast at the Auburn
Community Hall The Lions
presented each lady with a
carnation. They served breakfast to
197 people.
The proceeds will be donated to
the Blyth Arena.
Lawrence Plaetzer celebrated his
birthday at the Carnation Restaurant
this past Saturday. Happy birthday
Area youth play in tourney
Several kids from the Auburn
area play junior broomball at the
Blyth arena during the winter
months. This past weekend kids
from Novice to Juvenile travelled
by bus to Lefroy for the Provincial
Junior Broomball Championship
tournament.
Lauren Lecomte, Charlotte
Worsell, and Lisa Carter play for
the Midget girls team. They played
their first game Friday afternoon at
3 p.m. against Mildmay, they lost 1
- 0. Their second game was played
Saturday afternoon against
Seaforth. This was won by Blyth 2
- 1 in double overtime.
With one win and one loss this
allowed them to play a third game
Saturday night at 11:30 p.m. against
the same Mildmay team they had
played Friday afternoon. The girls
managed to take this game into
overtime also, but came out on the
losing end by a 1 - 0 score.
Overall these girls played very
well and hope to be
running next season.

Ben Miller of the Auburn Lions Club spent most of Sunday
morning working over a hot grill as he cooked pancakes
for the dozens that enjoyed the breakfast. The event was
a fundraiser for the Blyth and District Community Centre.

PEPPER - NEAL
Brent Leslie Pepper and Rebecca Lynn Neal were joined in
marriage on August 24, 2002 at 3:30 p.m. at St. Luke's in the
Garden Chapel, London by Rev. Steve Green. Brent is the son of
Murray and Sandra Pepper, Brussels. Rebecca is the daughter of
Doug and Linda Neal, Woodstock. The bride’s attendants were
Scott and Steve Neal, brothers of the bride and Karen Brisson,
sister of the bride. Clancy Neal, nephew of the bride was
ringbearer. The groom's attendants were Lesley Pepper and Kara
McNichol, sisters of the groom. Emily Ulch, cousin of the groom
was' flower girl. The guitarist was Richard By water. The soloist was
Allain Brisson, brother-in-law of the bride. Readers were Robert
Gackstetter, cousin of the groom and Sara Kaczinski, cousin of the
bride. A reception followed at the Forest City National Golf
Course, London, where delicious refreshments were enjoyed
outdoors. The couple honeymooned at Fitzgerald Bay, north of
Parry Sound. They now reside in Kingston where they both attend
Queen's University.
