Obituaries CATHERINE “KAY” LAPP Catherine “Kay” Viola (Wood) Lapp of RRl, Auburn passed away at Clinton Public Hospital on Monday, Feb. 3, 2003. She was in her 84th year. Mrs. Lapp was a member of Knox United Church in Auburn. She was involved in many community groups and for several years report­ ed on the news in Auburn as the local newspaper correspondent. She was born on Dec. 19, 1919 in Malahide Twp., Elgin County and was the daughter of the late William and Nancy (Belore) Wood. She was the loved wife of the late Frederick Elliott Lapp who prede­ ceased her in 2001. Kay was the dear mother of Bill and Mary Lapp of Abbottsford, BC, Nancy and Walter Denys of RR3, Kippen, and Keith and Helen Lapp of RRl, Auburn. She was the loving grandmother of Mike and Eric Lapp, Jeff and Committee encourages preservation of historic sites By Janice Becker Citizen staff A recently-formed heritage com­ mittee in Huron East is hoping to encourage and support the preserva­ tion of historic structures in the municipality. The tax provision has to be adopted HARRY RICHARD KERSSIES Harry Richard Kerssies of RRl, Londesborough passed away sud­ denly at his home on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003. He was in his 38th year. Mr. Kerssies was a dairy farmer. He was bom in Brantford, Ontario on Jan. 31, 1966 and is the beloved son of Hendrick (Hank) Kerssies and the late Berendina (Dianne) Kerssies who predeceased him on Feb. 25, 2001. He was the dearest brother of Janey Kerssies of RRl, Londesborough. Mr. Kerssies was also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends were received at the Beattie-Falconer Funeral Homes Ltd., 153 High St., Clinton on Friday from 6 - 9 p.m. The funeral service was held at the Blyth Christian Reformed Church, Blyth on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 1:30 p.m. Rev. ROSEMARY AGNES FIDOM Rosemary Agnes Fidom, formerly of Blyth, passed away Feb. 7, 2003 in her 49th year at Maples Home for Seniors, Tavistock. Ms Fidom was bom in Clinton on Feb. 8, 1954. She is survived by her son Jason Fidom of Wingham. She was the dear daughter of Gordon Carter and his wife Lois of Tavistock and loved sister of Ron Carter and Michelle of Belgrave, Lloyd Carter of Wingham, Joyce Carter of Biyth and Annette Ward of Brodhagen. She was the dear grand­ daughter. of Roland Marks of preneurial ism. They are also support­ ed by the economic development committee. In their quest to maintain the her­ itage buildings in the municipality, Moyer said one only has to look at the difference between Seaforth and Brussels. “Seaforth designated all of the downtown 15 years ago and Brussels decided not to designate. Look at the impact of no designation.” “In Seaforth there is an easement and a promise to keep the buildings up and maintain the heritage quality. They were pro-active. Dr. Eugen Bannerman officiat­ ed. Honorary pallbearers were: David Ward, Billy Joe Ward, Mathew Ward, Paul Ward, Richard Carter and Bradley Ramsey. Honorary flowerbearer was Jennifer Carter. Cremation has taken place. Interment of ashes will be in Blyth cemetery.
