Brussels Livestock report
Light lambs sell over $97.50 to $152 range
Total receipts for the week ending
Nov. 15 were 2,968 head of cattle,
494 lambs and goats. On Tuesday,
lighter weight American-type cattle
sold $1 to $2 higher with heavier
weights selling on a steady trade.
Cows sold at steady prices. On
Thursday the veal sold on a steady
market. The lambs sold at prices $5
to $10 higher with the new crop
lambs selling up to $225. On Friday
the calves sold at prices $1 to $2
higher while the yearlings traded $2
to $3 higher.
There were 588 steers on offer
selling from

to $116.50: M Shiell, Wingham
consigned one black steer weighing
1,380 lbs. which was purchased by
Norwich Packers for $116.50. His
overall offering of twenty-one steers
averaged 1.479 lbs. for an average of
$99.58. A limousin steer consigned
by Jerry P. Cronin, Dublin, weighed
1.215 lbs. selling to Highland
Packers Ltd. for $109.50. His overall
offering of five steers averaged
1.276 lbs. for an average of $105.16.
