The WMS of Knox Presbyterian
Church of Cranbrook, met at the
home of Frieda Crawford on Nov.
12. Six members attended.
Eleanor Stevenson gave a reading
by Irma Bombeck fcillowed by a
review of the wars fought in the past
century.
It has been said that eventually a
new age shall dawn, an age of peace
when the implements of war shall be
destroyed and justice shall rule in
the land.
Yvonne Knight offered a prayer
for peace. This was followed by the
business of the meeting. The roll call
was answered with a fitting verse or
reading on the Remembrance Day
theme.
There was a total of 20 visits and

Last time I reported that a wall
was removed in the Cranbrook Hall
basement to open up space and to
reduce the heating costs,
}When this was done the ramp,
which makes the basement
wheelchair accessible, was without
a railing.
Allan Fretz kindly donated his
skills, his time and materials to
make a new railing for the ramp.
The hall board thanks Allan for
this generosity and this addition to
the safe operation of the
hall.
The Queen Mother. there was
always a smile and a joyous look on
her face: She had a zest for life.
Fanny Crosby was honoured next.
When she was a small child
someone pat the wrong eye drops
into her eyes. As a result she was
blinded for life.
Despite this, happiness and joy
were with her, as she wrote many
poems and hymns during her
lifetime. Two of her familiar hymns
are All The Way, and Safe in the
Arms of Jesus.
Mrs. Aitcheson drew attention to
the fine group of ordained women
ministers here. Knox's former
minister Rev. Lynn Nichol and
others in this area and in Stratford
were acknowledged.

Public School this past Friday. The

this Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 7:30
p.m. The county's written response
to the three-way stop will be

I am in the process of researching
the history of a token found from the
Ethel General Store when it was
owned by the Davies.
"The Davies?" you ask?
Yes, I too am asking who the
Davies family was so if you happen
to know please give me a call.
