A variety of answers were heard from the children including waiting for 'birthdays, the bus and Christmas. Joan Tuchlinsky questioned them on what people can do while they ware waiting and discussed that we all need to prepare and help make the world a better place for each other. Karen Hoegy was the scripture reader and many members of the congregation participated in reading Stories of Expectation. Joan began and was followed by Jennifer McClure, Brian McGavin, Jeff Black, Evelyn Gulutzen, Jo-Ann McDonald. Brian Black and Heidi McClure. They were stories of people's hopes that someday we can make things better and that we can live and work for peace, for justice, for shalom. Liz the Lizard from the Magic School Bus visited during the parent information nights and scholastic book fair. They also had a visit from two nurses, John Lowe and Phyllis Barfoot. The children listened to their own heart beats-and tried on hospital clothes. They learned all about the different supplies nurses use. The children have been enjoying the new room set-up — especially the new cosy reading centre. The children arc fortunate that so many parents donate supplies and participate in the school events. The toddler class is also enjoying a new reading corner. The toddlers ended their busy week' by baking cookies for a special treat on Friday. Keep Nov. 30 open to attend the One Stop Shop and Silent auction at the BM&G arena. Anyone wishing to donate an article for the silent auction can call the school.
