would like to express their thanks and appreciation to all those
who supported the Elimination Draw and Fish Fry. To all the
many members who worked, contributed food and dessert,
and participated in the entertainment our thanks to them.
Without the great support of the community and our

Legion
hosts
youth
meeting
. By Jo-Ann McDonald
What a great week at Branch 218.
The Brussels Legion Branch hosted
the zone membership and youth
meeting on Tuesday evening with
over 30 comrades in attendance.
They broke into their separate
groups following the opening and
concluded the evening with a light
lunch.
The Friday night supper of
sausage, sauerkraut and scalloped
potatoes was attended by a small
crowd. This week is roast beef.
The Saturday fish fry and
elimination draw was a fantastic
finish to Legion week. Over 180
diners enjoyed the delicious deep-
fried fish and all the fixings.
The draws began shortly after 6
p.m. with the lovely Vanna White
(aka Terry Buchanan). Musical
interludes were provided by Donald
Dunbar and Alice Brothers. At 8 p.m.
the Legionnaire performers took the
stage and presented acts from 1964 -
the Ed Sullivan Show. Featured
performers included Tiny Tim (Dave
Taylor). singing Tip Toe Through the
Tulips. Miss Vicki (Bob Cochrane)
and the minister Rick McDonald.
The Supremes (Ruth Lowe, Jill
Sholdice and Jo-Ann MCDonald)
performed Stop In The Name of
Love. Fresh from across the border,
or was that street, was the clown act
BooBoo and Dots.
The crowd screamed with squeals
of delight when the Fab Four, The
Beatles, took the stage.
Terry Buchanan, Allison Cardiff,
Keith Mulvey and Phil Graber sang
She Loves You.
Sherry Lewis (Sandra Josling)
with her sidekick Lambcho0 (Linda
Bird) performed a great visit to the
legion.
There were more squeals of
excitement when the great Elvis
Presley (Lisa Glanville) appeared to
'perform You Ain't Nothing But a
Hound Dog.

Well it's fall. The calendar says it
is and the weather is in full
agreement. Suddenly we're slipping
into cool, no darn, it's cold nights. I
guess we'll get used to it and dig out
the jackets and mitts.

another daughter Fran along to make
the visit even better. Lots of stories
were retold: Anne's husband was the
