Tracking the progress
Heart and Soul campaign representative Fran Cook of
Blyth was on hand to thank Paul Josling for constructing
the thermometer which will mark the community's progress
towards $2.5 million as they raise funds for the renovated
community centre. Betty MacDonald of Clinton painted the
thermometer. Through the tremendous efforts of many
volunteer canvassers, $1.8 million has been pledged to
date, but the committee is still seeking contributions. (Janice

at Ada's apartment in Stoney Creek.

on Sunday, Aug. 18 were Lavern and
Ross Clark. Rev. EUgen Bannerman
welcomcd cvervone on such a
beautiful morning.
Heather Elliott sang I Come 10 the
Gorden Almte.
Rev. Bannerman's story for the
children was about St.. Francis
talking to a group of crows and how
beautiful he told them they were. He
challenged the children to. see how
close they could get to the birds and
to talk to them.
I lis message to the adults was the
story of how St. Francis chose to
live secluded and in a cave, how he
went into the Muslim community to
talk to them about his God.
The prayer of St. Francis was
repeated during the sermon.
Heather then treated the
congregants to a solo Amazing
Grace.
Maurice and Maureen Bean and
Brock and Janis Vodden were visited
t>y.some of their Moffitt cousins for
the Blyth 125th weekend. They
included Carm and Gladys Moffitt
of Sarnia, Gar Morritt and Keith
Moffitt. both of London. Mary
(Moffitt) Bellerby of North
Vancouver, and Ann (Morritt)

THE EDITOR,
This is a slightly delayed, but
sincere "Hats Oft!" to the Blyth
125th Committee. They did a
Wonderful job: Visitors , kept saying
"The spirit of Blyth continues". The
wonderful parade will stand out in
all our memories.
