working on constructing their barns
and they are adding windows and
doors on this week and next.
Alanis's mom is coming in to
volunteer. Niki's mom brought in
two kittens for the class and she is
also helping around the classroom.
On Thursday, May 30,
Kindergarten C joined Kindergarten
A, B and Grades 1, 2 and 3 in
participating in play day. They
enjoyed many outdoor activities and
had a lot of fun.
Mrs. Murray's Grade 4s had a test
on British Columbia for social
studies. In science they are learning
how light affects mirrors and they
are graphing and patterning in math.
They are also learning about
adjectives and adverbs in Language
Arts.
They got to have a free swim as a
celebration for end of their
swimming lessons.
Greg Kuepfer turned 10 this
week, which made his week even
better.
The highlight of last week was a

time. They are working on a Big
year-end feature film called The

When the Grade 6s are at the
public library composing their
summer reading lists, they will also
be accessing resources for
researching a famous artist.
Everyone is off to a great start
creating the Corel Presentations
computer slide show that they will
use to present their famous artist
project. Students have had some
experience with presentation
software recently when they learned
how to use Kid Pix Slideshow, and
are excited about stepping up to
Corel Presentations, which can
produce very polished looking
presentations, similar to Microsoft's
PowerPoint.
Yvonne DeWit and Stacey
Holmes from Grade 8 began the task
of scanning regular photos. They
can also be used in the computerized
Slideshow.
Mrs. Mitchell was impressed with
the task commitment and quality of
work produced by this group of
students. Thanks for your help
all last winter. Without his efforts,
getting to the hall would have, at
times, been impossible.
I received a note from Nanette
Ziolkowski and Dave Mason
announcing the birth of their son
Walter Eric Mason on Feb. 18 last.
They noted that Walter's sister Kyra
Mason is very happy to have a little
brother. Nanette and Dave lived in
Cranbrook until Feb. 15 when they,
moved to Kitchener.
