Alanis's mom is coming in to volunteer. Niki's mom brought in two kittens for the class and she is also helping around the classroom. On Thursday, May 30, Kindergarten C joined Kindergarten A, B and Grades 1, 2 and 3 in participating in play day. They enjoyed many outdoor activities and had a lot of fun. Mrs. Murray's Grade 4s had a test on British Columbia for social studies. In science they are learning how light affects mirrors and they are graphing and patterning in math. They are also learning about adjectives and adverbs in Language Arts. They got to have a free swim as a celebration for end of their swimming lessons. Greg Kuepfer turned 10 this week, which made his week even better. The highlight of last week was a woman Wendy O'Brien from Stratford coming to teach them an Artitudes workshop about calligraphy. She taught how to work with pen and ink, how to make book The community extends deep. ympathy to Kathy Jo O'Grady on the unexpected and sudden passing of her father Charles O'Grady of Listowel. Due to this bereavement the "Enchanted Moon Store" in Brussels will be closed until June 5. A euchre party will be held at Cranbrook Hall June 7 at 8 p.m. the Hall board wants to thank Don Cotton for clearing snow at the hall markings and how to make 3D paper imagery. Mr. Perrie went outside with Mr.Walker's class to discuss weather and growth patterns. The class went swimming for their last time. They are working on a Big year-end feature film called The Phantom. When the Grade 6s are at the public library composing their summer reading lists, they will also be accessing resources for researching a famous artist. Everyone is off to a great start creating the Corel Presentations computer slide show that they will use to present their famous artist project. Students have had some experience with presentation software recently when they learned how to use Kid Pix Slideshow, and are excited about stepping up to Corel Presentations, which can produce very polished looking presentations, similar to Microsoft's PowerPoint. Yvonne DeWit and Stacey Holmes from Grade 8 began the task of scanning regular photos. They can also be used in the computerized Slideshow. Mrs. Mitchell was impressed with the task commitment and quality of work produced by this group of students. Thanks for your help all last winter. Without his efforts, getting to the hall would have, at times, been impossible. I received a note from Nanette Ziolkowski and Dave Mason announcing the birth of their son Walter Eric Mason on Feb. 18 last. They noted that Walter's sister Kyra Mason is very happy to have a little brother. Nanette and Dave lived in Cranbrook until Feb. 15 when they, moved to Kitchener. Dena, Crystal, Anna, Kaylea, Jessica, Steven, Taylor, Lindsay, Amber, Heather, Holly, Stacey and Yvonne. In math, Grade 6s have been reviewing for a math test on probability. They are also preparing for a social studies test. Moving on Blyth Scout George Ridout will be moving on to become a Venturer as he moves up Scouting's ladder.
