Two for boarding
Actually it took a lot more than two minutes to remove the
old end boards at Blyth arena. When the new boards are in
place they will feature six-foot glass completely encirculing
the ice surface. (David Blaney photo)

Tear down begins Blyth arena project
Air conditioning
Actually this is neither a bad attempt to increase air flow nor damage from one of March's nasty
storms. Blyth and area volunteers came through like a whirlwind on the weekend and com-
pleted a tremendous amount of work. Dwight Chalmers said that he believes a work-bee
scheduled for 8 a.m. next Saturday should clean up what little is left to do. (Jeannette McNeil photo)
Waste not, want not
This volunteer is carefully removing the steel cladding from
the outside of the arena. It was stacked on skids and will be
stored for future use. (David Blaney photo)
A lot of litter
Tearing out the inside of a building can create quite a mess. The volunteers continuously
stacked, sorted and removed the results of their labour to ensure that they had a safe and effi-
cient workplace. (David Blaney photo)
The big scoop
The boards in the Blyth arena may have shaken whenever
the players ran into them, but it wasn't because they weren't
well anchored. The metal support posts were well attached
to the concrete and a backhoe was needed to snap each
post individually. (David Blaney photo)
TAKE THE
30-SECOND
ASTHMA TEST
Five ways to tell if your asth-
ma is under control.
* Do you cough, wheeze, or
have a tight chest more than 3
times a week?
* Do coughing, wheezing, or
chest tightness wake you at
night?
* Do you avoid or stop exer-
cising because of your asthma?
* Do you ever miss work or
school because of your asthma?
* Do you use your blue inhaler
more than 3 times a week?
If you answered "yes" to one
or more of the above questions,
your asthma may be poorly con-
trolled. Speak to your doctor or
local Lung Association to deter-
mine how you can feel better.
