There was a sweet prize for the
person in each class wearing the
most red, white and pink.
There were candy grams that were
sold for 25 cents each. A candy gram
is when a student would like to give -
a sweet treat to their Valentine or to
a friend.
During the last two periods of the
day, Grades 7 and 8 had a dance.
The Grade 6 pupils-were able to join
them for the last period.
On Tuesday, Feb. 19, pupils from
Hullett Central Public School
watched a video presented by the
Wescast Aquatics. Then they talked
about boating safety and ice safety,
giving different safety tips.
The student council held Hawaiian
Day on Wednesday, Feb. 20 with the
help of students in Grade 7/8.-They
had many fruits to taste such as
pineapple, kiwi, mango, lime,
bananas and coconut. They also had
a hula hoop contest and pupils got to
do the limbo.
Intramural basketball takes place
in the gym at lunchtime and at recess
between Warriors, Magic, Nuggets,
Trailblazers, Timber Wolves and
Hornets. A basketball tournament
will be held on April 18.
The Tuesday night discussion
group will meet at the manse on
Wednesday, March 6 at 7 p.m. for
their final session.
On Thursday, March 7 the
confirmation class will meet at 5:30
p.m. in Auburn.
- A crokinole party sponsored by
the Sunday School will be held on
Wednesday, March 13 at the church.
All ladies of the congregation are
invited to a social/work day at the
church on Monday, March I I
beginning at 9 a.m.

Blyth skaters
wrap up season
With less than one month to go, the
skaters of the Blyth Skating club
polished up their routines and
practised for their testing and
Achievement Night held Friday, Feb.
22 at 7:30 p.m.
Many of the Senior figure skaters
attended the test day on Tuesday,
Feb. 12 held in Blyth. All of the
skaters did a great job and most
passed their respective dances.
On Friday, Feb. 15, many fans in
attendance enjoyed watching the
Canskaters four - seven-year-olds
who went out on the ice and
demonstrated their wonderful solos.
Afterwards, the skaters received a
certificate and a flower in
appreciation of their outstanding
routines.
On Saturday, Feb. 16, 23 skaters
from the Blyth Skating Club
attended the Interclub Skating
Competition held in Wingham and
the majority of the hard working
skaters came home with medals as
proof of their outstanding
performances. The 23 participants
and their respective flight placement
were: Jamie Lewis second; Sadie
Chalmers, first; Rebecca Chalmers,
second; Shelsie Popp, fourth; Sheree
Uyl, second; Kelly Cooke, first;
Alanna Uyl, second; Courtney Bos,
third; Jasmine deBoer, first; Kelly
MacDon-ald, third; Nathasha
Hubbard, second; Vicki Cook,
fourth; Emily Wood, fifth; Laura
Youngblut, third; Jory Lynn Uyl,
first; Brittany Bos, second; Corine
Falconer, first; Skye Cook first;

As skating begins to wind down,
the skating coaches will be testing
the power skaters and the Canskaters
in order that they might pass up to
the next level.
The season has certainly flown by
but everyone is very excited for next
season when the new and improved
arena will be ready. There is even
talk of putting together a
synchronized skating team if there is
enough interest. More information
