Mrs. Reta M. (Bowes) Blake of
Huronlea and formerly of Blyth
passed away on Dec. 3, 2001 in her
85th year.
Mrs. Blake was born in Hullett
Twp. on Sept. 24, 1917 and was the
daughter of the, late David and
Amanda (Watson) Bowes. Mrs.
Blake was a member of Trinity
Anglican Church of Blyth.
She was the beloved wife of John
Frederick Blake and dear mother of
June and Lloyd McDowell of
Stratford, Ivan and Gertie Blake of
Hanover, Sheila and Mike Moore of
Wingham and Barbara and Bruce
Crapper of Milverton. She was loved
and will be sadly missed by eight
grandchildren and five great-grand-
children. She was the dear sister of
011ie and Bodie Craig of RR2,
Blyth.
Mrs. Blake was predeceased by
one son James Foster and two broth-
ers Arnold and Irvin Bowes.

The final meeting for the year of
the Auxiliary to Wingham and
District Hospital was held Nov. 26 in
the Terrace Room of the hospital.
President Brenda Anger welcomed
16 members and two guests, Mary
Lou McGill chairperson of Region 2,
accompanied by Florence Hayes,
treasurer. Both are active members
of the Kitchener Auxiliary.
McGill talked about ways to get
new members interested in Auxiliary
work and to take leadership. She
assured the Auxiliary that it is a
province-wide problem. Secondly,
she talked about plans for the confer-
ence which Wingham will be hosting
Visitation Centre on Tuesday from 2
- 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service
was held at Trinity Anglican Church,
Blyth on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 2
p.m. Rev. Nancy Beale officiated.
Flowerbearers were grandsons
Deric Kruse, John Crapper, Kyle
Crapper and Michael. Moore.
Pallbearers were Vernon Bromley,
John Brush, Paul Craig, Mark
Homyak, Ian Wood and Andrew
Selkirk.
Interment was in Blyth Union
Cemetery.
Donations to the Alzheimer's
Society or to the charity of one's
choice would be appreciated as
expressions of sympathy.
Funeral arrangements were
entrusted to Beattie-Falconer
Funeral Homes Ltd., Clinton.
DONALD RUSSEL LONG
Mr. Donald Russel Long of Blyth,
passed away on Friday, Dec. 72,
2001 after .a lengthy illness sur-
rounded by loving family members.
He was in his 66th year.
Monday, April 22.
A thank you note was read from
Janet Lisle who had received the
Auxiliary Award of $500 at the F.E.
Madill commencement. She is
studying at the University of Ottawa
and was unable to attend commence-
ment.
It was reported that the poinsettia
tea had been a successful event.
A few Auxiliary members will
help the teen volunteers -host a
Christmas party for patients and
their families.
All December babies will go home
in a Christmas stocking sewn by
member Marion MacKenzie. Festive
serviettes will be supplied by the
Auxiliary for the food trays.
After hearing all the reports from
the various committees, the
Auxiliary decided to make a dona-
tion of $5,000 towards the new X-
ray equipment. The donation will be
made in the near future.
The next meeting is.Monday, Jan.
28 in the hospital board room.
