JACKLIN/McNICHOL
David Andrew Jacklin and Kandice Marie McNichol, along with their
family and friends, exchanged vows on June 9th, 2001 at the home of
Ray and Kathy McNichol, R.R. 2, Blyth. They are the parents of
Kandice. David is the son of Don and Joyce Jacklin of Brussels. The
couple honeymooned at Ceasars Pocono Palace in Pennsylvania. They
now reside in Brussels.

The purpose of the Group commit-
tee is to co-ordinate the administra-
tion part of Scouting, to raise funds
to finance Scouting activities, equip-
ment, supplies, and training, to prob-
lem solve and to act as liaison with
the community and the Scouting
organization.
The Blyth Legion Branch 420 and
the Blyth Lions Club are sponsors of
1st Blyth Scouting.
A total of $687.50 was raiseddur-
ing apple day for local Scouting pur-
poses.

56 registered for Scouting
First Blyth Scouting is now well
underway for the 2001-2002 scout-
ing year with a total of 56 youth reg-
istered.
Beavers meet Tuesdays, 6:30 -
7:30 p.m. at the Blyth Public School.'
There are currently 20 Beavers regis-
tered, of which 14 are new. Colony
leaders are Fred Hakkers, Ian Wood,
Heather Wood, Kerry Nesbitt, and
Paul Safr. Meetings have included
games and crafts, an introduction to
'Friends of the Forest' and learning
the Beaver program.
New Beavers were invested Oct.
23 .
Cubs meet Tuesdays, 7:30 - 9 p.m.
at the school. Pack leaders are Alan
Young, Nancy Hakkers and Allan
Peel. There are 16 Cubs registered.
They will be working on the Red and
Purple Stars this year.
One meeting included a session
on bicycle safety with OPP Const.

• Scouts meet Wednesdays, 7 - 9
p.m. at the Blyth Public School.
Troop leaders this year are Lavern
Clark, David Cartwright and Gerald
Hakkers. Thirteen Scouts are cur-
rently registered. Already they have
participated in a canoeing-camping
excursion to the Gun Lake Region
Sept. 28-30 and hiked from Saltford
to Benmiller, Oct. 13. Another hike
is planned for Oct. 30.
Venturers meet Monday, 7 - 9 p.m.
at various locations. There are seven
Venturers and Venturer Advisors are
Mike and Arden Scott. Sept. 28-30
they served as security for the
just Regional Fall Troop Camp held at
Family Paradise.
With blueprints and materials sup-
plied by the owner, the Venturers are
planning to build a single-seater
plane.
