UCW meets
Blyth UCW met on Tuesday, Oct.
23. Dianne Ferguson welcomed all
and continued with the theme of He
still moves stones. This discussion
was on foster parenting.
She introduced Deanie
Mackenzie, resources worker for
foster parent training at the Huron
Children's Aid Society, who showed
a video of their work, and told of
how they screen potential foster par-
ents. They can have up to four chil-
dren at a time.
They present have 64 foster
homes in Huron County but need
more.
Pat Brigham has been foster par-
ent for two years and she spoke on
her involvement and how much she
has enjoyed it. The worship began
with verses from Luke 15. What a
Friend We Have in Jesus was sung.
There is a talent auction on Nov. 2 at
Memorial Hall. Viewing is at 7 p.m.
with the auction at 7:30 p.m.
The next meeting is Tuesday, Nov.
27 at 6:30 p.m. with a potluck din-
ner and special Christmas meeting.
The meeting closed with lunch
