583 steers on offer with sales to $110.75
Total receipts for the Brussels
Livestock for the week ending Oct.
19 were 4,077 head of cattle, 408
lambs and goats.
On Tuesday fed steers and heifers
sold at prices $1 higher. Cows sold
steady. On Thursday both the veal
and the lambs sold at prices steady to
last week. On Friday the calves sold '
at prices $5 lower and the yearlings
sold at prices steady to last
week.
There were 583 steers on offer
selling from $97 to $101 with sales
to $110.75. Glen Walker, Wingham,
consigned one gold steer weighing
1,420 lbs. selling to Norwich
Packers for $110.75.
His overall consignment of thirty-
two steers averaged 1,447 lbs. for an
average of $99.76. One limousin,
steer consigned by Merkley Farms,
Wroxeter, weighed 1.260 lbs. which
sold to Norwich Packers for
$108.75. Their overall consignment
of six steers averaged 1,423 lbs. sell-
ing for an average of $103.10. Jeff
Cormack, Mount Forest, consigned
one charolais steer which weighed

4-H Horse Club members from
across the province will be coming to
the Royal Winter Fair, Toronto, on
Monday, Nov. 5 to participate in a
special Horse Club program, which
will include judging and showman-
ship clinics and a chance to eRplore
the Royal Winter Fair.
The program held at the GM Truck
Cavalcade of Horses will start with a
showmanship clinic, with one of
North America's top professional
showman. A showmanship demon-
stration by 4-H horse club members
will provide an example of how to
put the tips into practice.
An interactive judging clinic with
a top Canadian horse judge will pro-
vide the participants with tips on
judging and experience in using their
new skills.
A chance to .see the sights and
sounds of the Royal and to meet
other horse club members will
enhance an already jam-packed fun
day.

Racing Industry. Association
(OHRIA) makes this new 4-H Horse
Club Project Day at the Royal possi-
ble. OH'RIA last year donated
$100,000 to the Ontario 4-H
Foundation to initiate, stimulate and

weighing 1,260 lbs. selling to

overall consignment of fourteen
heifers averaged 1,223 lbs. which
sold for an average of $103.05.
One black heifer consigned by
Weswill Holdings Inc., Kippen,
weighed 1,370 lbs. selling to Moyer
Packing Co. for $102.50. Their over-
all consignment of six heifers aver-
aged 1,183 lbs. at $101.69. Rob
Lamont, Mount Forest, consigned
support 4-H Horse programs in
Ontario.

tal veal steer consigned by Mohawk
Park Ranch, Monkton, weighed 675
lbs. and sold to Norval Meat Packers
for $147. Their overall offering of
three veal averaged 670 lbs. for

consigned one black veal steer
weighing. 695 lbs. which sold for
$125.50. His total consignment of
two veal averaged 695 lbs. at
$118.50. One holstein veal steer con-
signed by Sandy Pollock, Ripley,
interest to them. Almost 8,000 mem-
bers and 2,000 volunteers took part
in over 1,200 clubs across Ontario
last year.
