The Citizen, 2001-07-04, Page 8It was an entertaining game, June 25, when Brussels U-9 I traveled to Momington Public School to take on Newton 3. There was a lot of mid-field action with head shots and long distance kicks to keep the ball moving from one end to the other. Shots on net were limited by good defensive play by both squads. Christopher Becker started in net for Brussels, being challenged early when a shot went wide. Good clear- ing kicks moved the play up field for his forwards. Vicki Blake played excellent defence, aiding the netmin- der and passing the ball out. Brussels got on the board first when Andrew Lindsay took the ball the length of the field, passing to Ty Sebastian for the netter. Lindsay net- ted one of his own minutes later when his shot from the side went off the post and in. Adrian Menzi and Marissa Pipe worked hard to get the ball away from their opponents Walton plays close one with Ethel INSURANCE PREMIUMS TOO HIGH? ri) Omni Insurance Brokers Save 20-400 0 on your auto insurance and more on other insurance services Free No Obligation Quote Paul Hallahan RA*. #3 Blyth (519) 52379110 Fax: (519) 523-9278 Clinton Office: (519) 482-3434 Pager 1-888-489-2570 email:phallahan@odyssey.on ca Offering Insurance & Financial Services Farm/Commercial/ Residential/Auto Accident/Sickness D.S.I Hot action Despite the heat and humidity last Thursday night the Brussels U-17 team played hard when they met up with Wallace at home.
